Description
Hurricane Harvey, a category 4 storm, has left Houston and the surrounding areas and is now heading for Louisiana as a tropical storm; however, the imprint it left on Houston was devastating. A Politico article said Harvey was the 3rd 500-year storm in as many years leaving 40-60 inches of rain, which flooded various parts of the city. Authorities are still dealing with the floods and trying to rescue people from their homes. People whose live are changed forever. As we donate to support efforts to help Harvey's victims, we look at how this storm was so devastating. There were 3 causes that contributed to Harvey's destructive ability that I talk about during the podcast. I apologize for my tone during this podcast as I am frustrated at the lack of preparedness of governments who face climate change impacts, but refuse to acknowledge them.
