Description

Today’s show is about selecting the best drone for mapping projects and how to compare the many options available in the market.

Today's question is from David, who is brand new to the drone world has recently purchased a Mavic 3 and is interested in entering the mapping world. David has just come to know the Mavic 3 is not suited for mapping projects and would like to know if the Mavic 3 is the best drone for undertaking mapping projects and how pilots can go about selecting drones for mapping requirements.

In our response we discuss why the Mavic family of drones is not suited for mapping projects. We discuss about the 4 questions that pilots need to ask when purchasing a mapping drone.

We also discuss important parameters such as understanding integrations with third party applications, identifying how mapping softwares understand camera resolution and imagery, the importance of rolling and global shutter and understanding the cost of mapping projects and parameters that drive your mapping costs.

We also discuss if David should return his Mavic 3 or hold on to it and put it to better use.

If you are looking to purchase a drone this year you do not want to miss this show!
