Description
A drama documentary about the fascinating history of Maria Gertrudis Hore, an Irish-Spanish poet from the 18th century. Wed at 19, her husband often away at sea, she began a romance with a brigadier. However, wracked with guilt at the age of 35 she decided to enter a convent, where she died in South America in 1801. (First Broadcast 1996)
