The New England Patriots made their final roster cuts to create their opening roster and there was just one quarterback to make the team: first round rookie Mac Jones. No Cam Newton. No Brian Hoyer. Only Jones, who should be written in as the week 1 starter in permanent marker. Jones won the job outright with his consistency, growth, and leadership and should be the starter for a long time.
As for the other positions on the roster, the Patriots kept an undrafted rookie free agent on the initial roster for the 18th straight year, the oft-maligned N'Keal Harry and Joejuan Williams made the team, and the defensive front seven is stacked with talent.
