Description
There have been 8 teams to go 7-0 since the 2010 season: 2011 Green Bay Packers, 2012 Atlanta Falcons, 2013 Kansas City Chiefs, 2015 Denver Broncos, 2015 Carolina Panthers, 2015 New England Patriots, 2015 Cincinnati Bengals, and 2018 Los Angeles Rams. 2015 was a crazy year.
The 2019 New England Patriots are looking to be the 9th team to accomplish that feat this decade.
Looking bigger picture, there have only been 6 teams in the Super Bowl era to post a better point differential through 7 games than the +142 point different the Patriots have through 6 games. Two of those teams (1991 Washington and 1999 St. Louis Rams) won the Super Bowl, and another three lost the Super Bowl (1967 Oakland Raiders, 2006 Chicago Bears, 2007 New England Patriots). The sixth team (1966 Dallas Cowboys) lost in the NFL Championship game to the Green Bay Packers, who went on to win the Super Bowl.
Basically, the Patriots are in great company and are looking to join the ranks of the best teams in league history as they take on the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. The Patriots defense matches up well against the Jets offense. Tom Brady is still Tom Brady. Will the Patriots move to 7-0?
