Description

All GameStop (NYSE:GME), all the time. The battle between retail traders from Reddit and the hedge fund elite dominated all market conversations during the week. Lost in the shuffle was the busiest earnings period of the quarter.
Broader stock market indices quietly turned in a losing week, with the Dow Industrials (DJI), S&P 500 (SP500), and Nasdaq Composite (COMP) each due to drop about 3%. Most of the losses came Friday. Volatility as measured by the VIX gained 44% this week.
In light of the news that had everybody talking, the Alpha TALKS panel this week threw the traditional playbook out the window.
Instead, the conversation followed an outline of three distinct questions on the GameStop fiasco:

The main outcome and lessons;

The anticipated fallout;

Who will emerge as winners and losers.
