Description

In episode 104 of Future Rich, Certified Financial Planner Barbara Ginty interviews 26-year-old, Sophie who seems to have all of her financial ducks in a row!

Sophie lives in Los Angeles, California, with her partner and works as a product researcher for an educational tech company. She has been super busy since 2020 and just got a promotion. Her expenses aren't too bad, but she has to tackle a bit of, you guessed it, student loan debt.

Sophie is also interested in dipping her toes into the F.I.R.E. movement. What Is the F.I.R.E. movement exactly? F.I.R.E. stands for “Financial Independence, Retire Early.” It is a lifestyle movement to save and invest aggressively—somewhere between 50–75% of your income—so you can retire sometime in your 30s or 40s (who doesn't want that?!).

In this episode, Barbara helps Sophie come up with a concrete plan to pay off her student loans and also offers suggestions for her to get into
the F.I.R.E. movement early.
