DJ, presenter and author Annie MacManus chooses her five favourite books by women and tells Yomi why she’s outgrown Annie Mac. Annie is best known as a BBC Radio 1 DJ where she currently hosts the flagship daily new music show, Future Sounds. She’s also an incredible club DJ, playing at the world’s biggest venues, events and festivals, and has curated her own festival - Lost and Found - in Malta. Her own podcast - Changes with Annie MacManus - is all about change and how people deal with it. And this year she’s published her first novel - Mother Mother, which she describes as “a story about family ties, addiction, the resilience of women and the teflon-strength bond that can exist between a mother and a son”   Annie’s book choices are: ** Are You There God?
