Description

Emily Kwok is a martial arts practitioner, master instructor, and founder at the Princeton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. If I'm trying to be an instructor, that is a very different skillset from being a practitioner. When I am a business owner combined with an instructor and I am looking at the experience of a new student versus a competitor, I try to sympathize and cater to their needs and bring myself to their level. So, then I can understand what they're going through and they too can jump on board and enjoy what it is that we do. Emily Kwok - Episode 518 Our guest today tells us her journey that's very unusual for a martial artist. Emily Kwok started later than most of us and she started training in boxing first before martial arts because of the movies Ali and Girl Fight. She later then trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that prompts her to compete and build her own school. Emily Kwok was also motivated to compete because she wanted to train with women like her. In this episode, Emily Kwok tells us a lot about her story such as what happens when you go to a BJJ class for the first time and more!
