Description

The word REMEMBER originated from the Latin meaning “called to mind” or “mindful” and today we are going to talk about why remember is such an important word to us, in our lives, and in our spiritual journey.  We share some personal and sacred spiritual and life experiences about remembering, and examples from the scriptures and from the Savior on why the word remember is, as Spencer W Kimball once said, “perhaps the most important word in the English language.” Remembrance has been an impactful element in our spiritual journey.  And if it’s something that you feel has also strengthened you in the past, it’s very important that you write it down, talk about it, or share it with someone because building your testimony solely on a few miracles that happen in your life may not be as strong. They will start to fade and they may not come back to your remembrance as much. So doing those will help bring things to your remembrance and continue to strengthen you in the future. In this episode, you will hear: The number of times the word remember is mentioned in the Books of Scripture Examples of prophets and people having experiences of remembering Lessons from Alma the Younger Elder Renlund’s speech about the concept of a saint as a sinner who keeps on trying Neil’s powerful conversation with his brother and remembering the promise he made Approaching recovery from addition day by day Jesus as the perfect example of remembering the Scriptures in his teachings My personal experience when reading the words of Isaiah The power of remembering your purpose and your spiritual experiences The multiplication of my breast milk as a testimony builder Being careful about the other influences in your life that either dull or sharpen your spirit Supplementing your spiritual muscle-building with Scriptures   Supporting Resources: Book of Mormon “Alma the Younger is Converted” video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsxb5QVcGmQ Dale G.
