Description
The message was delivered on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Laurel Carbone, Congregant, at the Humanist Service. DESCRIPTION Everyone has failed at some point in their life. Failure can be demoralizing, but it doesn't have to be where we stay. If we ask ourselves to keep moving forward, we're honest with ourselves and others, and we handle ourselves with grace, we can move into a place of healing. There will be people and societal messages along the way that work against your progress, but there will also be helpers. Always look for the helpers, and where you can, be a helper. Laurel will share her journey of moving from an abusive childhood to being a felon in prison to being a licensed attorney. (Comments regarding her abusive childhood will be kept brief and only used to provide context.) *Music: Sarah Maud, soloist; Jordan Hehl, bass; Matt Edwards, drums; Rick Fortner, piano.
