Find out what they were saying then and what it means for us today. --------------------------------------------- On the third Sunday in September in 1955, Rev. Robert W. Sonen (All Souls Sr. Minster 1944-1959) delivered a powerful sermon from the All Souls pulpit titled, “The Foolish Wisdom of Faith”. Kicking off the new Third Sunday Throwback Sermon Series, I will deliver a version of his message updated with a contemporary perspective and my own thinking on the subject. Rev. Sonen is known as one of the best preachers who served as Senior Minister of All Souls. In this message he takes up the topic of faith and why we lose our faith and what kinds of faith we are smart to maintain. Even in 1955, the concept of faith was controversial in a Unitarian church.
