Description

With a background in animation, live action and visual effects, Andrew Thomas Huang’s work bridges the gap between video art and film, expanding beyond into alternative modes of storytelling. His film and video work has exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art, NYC; MoMA PS1; The Barbican Centre, London; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Having developed a strong reputation for his collaborative practice, Huang has worked extensively with Icelandic artist Bjork, among others including FKA Twigs, Thom Yorke and British director Joe Wright. Huang served as creative director for Bjork’s VR exhibition Bjork Digital, creating multiple immersive experiences within the pioneering traveling installation. With his strength in world-building, Huang carries on his visual aesthetic as he continues his foray into narrative feature film. Huang is a Cinereach Fellow, a recent fellow in Film Independent’s Directors Lab, and a recipient of the K Period Media Fellowship grant. www.artistdecoded.com Get 15% OFF on all Four Sigmatic products: foursigmatic.com/artist-decoded

Titles in the series (100)

"I started this series as a means for exploration, an exploration of self and an exploration of the perspectives of other artists. This series is an unabridged documentation of conversations between artists. It’s a series dedicated to breaking down the barriers we tend to set up in our own mind. I want to inspire future creatives to have the courage to explore and experiment. This is about making dreams a reality and not about letting our dreams fall to the wayside. My intention is to give my audience a sense of real human connection, something that feels rich and organic. When I was thinking of a title I thought of the word “movement”. In relation to the Renaissance period in art, my goal for this program is to signify a rebirth of consciousness towards the way we look at contemporary art." - Yoshino
