Author David McCullough was the commencement speaker, and he gave some advice that day that really stuck with Burke. Those words were: “at some point, do something for your country.” That evening, Burke began to think about what he could do for his country. For years he had been disappointed by the Government’s inability to solve any of the big issues our country faced. It was that evening on the drive home from his son’s graduation ceremony that Burke decided he would write a book about the big problems America faces and solutions to fix those issues.
