Description
The reflection was delivered on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister, at the Humanist Service. DESCRIPTION The insatiable human desire for more often gets portrayed as a negative characteristic that leads to excess. What if its origin is a deep knowing that there is more to our lives then we often perceive or actualize? Do you feel the tug for more of something in your life? Perhaps it is the most important message you are avoiding. As we continue on the theme of “calling” I will be exploring the positive possibilities of our yearnings for more. The idea for this message came from a conversation with Ryan and Sarah Darby who won the prize of choosing a sermon topic and a song in last year’s Love and Light Gala. The song they chose is titled “More” from the band Phish. Rick Fortner has been working on a special version of the song for the services this Sunday.
