When Michael Lawrence was 15 years old, he went camping, with a friend, in the Anza Borrego Desert, in California.  Under a crystal clear sky, on the first night, with a bright, full moon overhead, Mike and his friend were in their tent. Mike's friend was sound asleep. Mike was still awake. So was the nightmare Mike could hear approaching the tent.
