Description
This week's Deadpod features the second set of the Dead's performance on February 27th, 1977 at the University of Santa Barbara, CA. As this was the second show to display the fabulous material from 'Terrapin Station' the band was still at a great place for this gig. The 'Samson' features a smokin' Garcia solo, and the 'St. Stephen', while missing the traditional bridge, was still very enjoyable, despite a cut in the tape at the start of the song. 'Terrapin' itself is of course a highlight, as the early versions were in a way unmatched. A nice 'Morning Dew' follows, then they close with a very good 'Sugar Magnolia' and a 'Johnny B. Goode' encore to cap off the evening. I hope you enjoy this very good audience recording.. Grateful Dead Robertson Gym - University Of California Santa Barbara, CA 2/27/77 - Sunday Two Samson And Delilah [6:34] ; Saint Stephen [#8:17] > Not Fade Away [9:08] > Drums [4:22] > Terrapin Station [9:54] > Morning Dew [13:27] ; Sugar Magnolia [9:16] Encore Johnny B.
