Ben Owens spent 20 years as an engineer in industry before leaving the corporate world to teach math and physics at Tri-County Early College High School in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina. He is a 2014 Hope Street Group National Teacher Fellow and is passionate about changing the status quo in education by better connecting the classroom to what happens in today’s global, knowledge based economy.
