Description
Inspired by the recent weather events in Texas, Florida and the Caribbean, we are talking about disaster preparedness: How we prepare for - or don’t prepare for it, best practices, and how you can be more self-sufficient to handle whatever Mother Nature throws your way. I think my biggest takeaway is that the best way to prepare for the unexpected is to prioritize saving into your emergency fund and making sure money stays there. It doesn’t matter if it’s a natural disaster, a job loss, a death in the family or a healthcare scare, shit is likely to happen and when shit hits the fan, cash helps you clean it up much faster and with a lot less stress. Notes for this show as well as links to everyone’s sites can be found on my blog, http://financially-blonde.com. Also, if you have any topics you would like for us to talk about during happy hour, please feel free to email me to shannon@finblonde.com or tweet to me @Blonde_Finance or join the private Martinis and Your Money Facebook group and let us know. Until next time, take care!!
