After an earthquake devastated Barpak, Nepal in 2015, Maya Pandey, a Virginia high school student born in Nepal, raised money to build a learning center to give Barpak students a place to study while their schools were rebuilt. Maya talks with Beverly Kirk about the process of building and sustaining the learning center and about how she’s also giving back to her community in Virginia.
