Description

For the two hundred thirty-ninth edition of the GeoGearHeads The Bad Cop and DarrylW4 talk through several smaller topics. First up were a couple of tips from Cedar & Co. Then of all the stories about Pokémon Go, there were a few interesting ones the guys mentioned; iMore: Nearly 4,000 show up for Pokémon Go launch event in Toronto Engadget: Robbers used 'Pokémon Go' to lure their victims Gizmodo: No, A Man Didn't Cause a Major Car Accident While Playing Pokémon Go iMore: Police mistakenly identify three Pokémon Go players as drug dealers iMore: Pokémon Go can be a huge security risk here's how to play privately! iMore: Pokémon Go parents guide: What you and your child need to know! Astronut sent in the very interesting article from Space News Feed titled "Seeing the satnav for the trees." Another article titled "Australia's latitude and longitude coordinates out by more than 1.5 metres, scientists say" submitted by Team MavEtJu talks about the movement of the earth. The iMore article "Best iPhone bike mounts to withstand the toughest trails" was shared as a good resource to check out bike mounts and Engadget's "The best USB battery packs" for selecting a good external battery for the field and travel. But the "I accidentally broke the super-rugged Cat S60 smartphone" article generated some discussion about how fragile even the most rugged devices can be. Then there was the news that " iOS 10 warns when your Lightning port gets wet" which sounds like a good idea. Finally, the "US government agency calls for the end of SMS authentication" article looked at a report which might change the was we log-in.
