Description

This is a walking dork expedition to Atlas Coffee Importers in Seattle with Craig Holt. David Crowe knew I would be fascinated. And so it came to pass. It might be loud, but it’s awesome.

Because of the guerilla nature of the taping, there is background noise and I would love your feedback. Do you like the dork expedition idea… it should be able to be done better with other equipment (Patrick had suggestions).

Notes:
Green Coffee Assoc. (Oh… if it’s good to know, I want to know it)
Coffee became a commodity – 1615?
Specialty Coffee Assoc. of America (SCAA not SCAJ)
The Roasters Guild – and its retreat
I was going to end it there… and then… we just kept talking J
Wild Mountain Café – where we had lunch. I’ve deleted us ordering. It was excellent.
Intelligencia  Coffee Shop - Silverlake coffee shop Craig likes. (there are some in other cities too).
Urth Caffe  - West Hollywood coffee shop and restaurant. Fancy. Nice.
David Crowe knows about Nuclear power! Chernobyl article I reference.
Feel free to play the game where you try to hear the waitress’s political opinion in the background.
Pollination of Coffee Plants – too much info and, certainly not all of it

Okay – seriously, I could have kept recording Craig and Dave and, probably, eating, forever. But we’re at an hour. I’ll have him on again, because he’s fascinating. And not just about coffee. I sense untapped depths. I’d also like to have David talk about his copious number of hobbies and stand up.

Thanks for listening to this expedition out into the world to find Dorks in their natural habitats. Thanks for the orders and the donations this week and, as always, thanks for listening. Take care of each other out there, Jackie
