Description

Dana Rader grew up playing golf at Mimosa Hills Country Club in Morganton, NC, knowing the game would become an important part of her life. She was good enough to make the men’s golf team at Pfeiffer University, had the skills to make a run at the LPGA tour but she found that her real love for the game centered on teaching. The Dana Rader Golf School at the Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte is a testimony to 25 years of hard work and a plan that has resulted in the school becoming one of the premier facilities in the country. She joined Myers Park Country Club in 1980 as an assistant professional, achieving LPGA Class A status in 1984. A group at Myers Park sponsored her run on the LPGA Tour but she says, “I competed for a while but found out I wouldn’t be able to make a living at that. It just wasn’t my heart and passion.”Individually, Dana has been named as one of the Top 100 Teachers in the U.S. by Golf Magazine and as one of the Top 50 Teachers in the U.S. by Golf Golf Digest magazine.  In 1990, she was honored by the LPGA as its National Teacher of the Year. A few years later, in 2003, Dana achieved LPGA Master Professional status. In, 2007, she was named by Golf Magazine to its prestigious list of the Top 50 Teachers in America. The Donna Rader Golf School is a top 25 school as listed in Golf magazine and more information can be found atwww.danarader.comRick Newell launched the syndication of his golf comic strip called Life in the Trap in January 2005 and thanks to golf publications around the world it has now grown to over 2 million readers per month. Born out of some of the darkest times in his life, Newell now gets to bring joy to frustrated golfers everywhere through Life in the Trap.Life in the Trap sprang from a golf comic strip he had fooled around with after college. "I remembered loving the comic, but could not think of a good reason why I had stopped working on it." explains Newell. So he dusted of his old sketch books, made his own website (www.lifeinthetrap.com), and eventually began to approach golf publications around the world.Pursuing what makes him and others feel 'awake' has become one of his life mottos. Sleep has once again become Newell's close friend and millions of golfers are now laughing at Life in the Trap. www.lifeinthetrap.comAvila Beach Golf Resort - www.avilabeachresort.com Blacklake Golf Resort - www.blacklake.comInn at Avila Beach - www.avilabeachca.comAvila LaFonda Hotel - www.avilalafondahotel.comGolfland Warehouse - www.golflandwarehouse.comSlickstix - www.slickstix.comFor more information on Golf Talk Radio with Mike & Billy visit www.golftalkradio.com and visit www.centralcoasttoday.com for Golf Talk TV with Mike & Billy.
