Born in Brooklyn in 1968, Sasha Waters Freyer makes non-fiction films about outsiders, misfits, and everyday radicals.  Trained in photography and the documentary tradition, she fuses original and found footage in 16mm film and digital media.  Most recently, she has crafted lyrical explorations of motherhood, documentaries on the New York of her youth, and essay films on the cultural and political legacies of the late 20th century.  Her newest work is a feature documentary on American photographer Garry Winogrand. The film titled Garry Winogrand: Al Things Are Photographable will air on PBS American Masters in 2019.   Resources: Sasha Waters Freyer Justine Kurland The Candid Frame Newsletter The Candid Frame Alexa Skill Lessons from the Street eBook by Ibarionex Making Photographs: Developing a Personal Visual Workflow Download the free Candid Frame app for your favorite smart device.
