Description

Lauren Welles is a freelance photographer based in NYC.  Prior to becoming a full- time photographer, she spent 16 years practicing law.  The same skills that were invaluable to her as an attorney-- the ability to problem solve, and to see something from multiple perspectives—have been indispensable to her career as a photographer. Lauren shoots many different kinds of assignments—events, portraits, editorial, street/documentary, and architectural/interiors.  As a result, she has had the good fortune of meeting and working with many different people, finding stories in every-day life that demonstrate one’s humanity, and figuring out how to bring out the best in any subject. Her photography has been exhibited in various venues including "The Fence" at Photoville, NYC & Atlanta; the Museum of the City of New York; PhotoLeiden, The Netherlands, Umbrella Arts Gallery, NYC; The Center For Fine Art Photography, Ft. Collins, CO; Arsenal Gallery, Central Park, NYC; and the HistoryMiami Museum, among others. Her work has appeared in publications, including the New York Times, La Repubblica, Adore Noir magazine, the New York Law Journal, PDN Online, Rangefinder Magazine, World Photography Organization, the Phoblographer, Women in Photography and Street Photography Magazine, among others.   Resources: Lauren Welles Jon Kral   Evgenia Arbugaeva   Download the free Candid Frame app for your favorite smart device.
