Introduction

My name is Eduardo Cortes Bica. I am an entrepreneur and someone who deeply believes in the power of financial education to transform lives. However, this journey was not planned from the start. On the contrary, my relationship with money and the world of business was built gradually, through challenges, new beginnings, and constant learning. At a certain point in my life, I found myself at a crossroads: follow the safe and predictable path that most people choose, or take a risk and embrace the unknown. I chose the second option, and that decision shaped the course of my story.

And this choice led me not only to financial success but to a freedom that few experience. The freedom of time, thought, and growth. I discovered that financial independence is not just about having enough money to pay bills and live comfortably, but about building wealth that continues to grow regardless of time and direct effort invested. As Warren Buffett wisely said: If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die. This phrase marked me deeply and made me rethink the way I saw money.

I come from a humble family, and like many, I grew up hearing that the way to a successful life was to study, get a good job, and work hard. For a long time, I believed in this narrative, until I realized that the traditional education system prepares us to be good employees, not financially free individuals. Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains, wrote Rousseau. And indeed, many are chained to a lifestyle that limits their dreams simply because they were never taught to question it.

The problem is not just how much you earn, but how you manage and multiply your money. Many people earn good salaries, yet live in debt. They don’t realize that the issue is not the amount of money that comes in, but how it is used. It’s not what you do with your salary that makes you rich, but what you do with the money left after paying the bills, said Robert Kiyosaki. If you see money only as a means to pay expenses, you will never escape this financial prison. To become wealthy, you must change this mindset and start seeing money as a resource to be multiplied.

In this book, I don’t intend to offer shortcuts or magic formulas, because they simply do not exist.
