    Introduction

Welcome to the 2026 edition of Llewellyn’s Sun Sign Book! This book offers a road map to your year ahead, from the major adventures and big-picture changes to the ups and downs of everyday life. This year is full of big planetary shifts, with unpredictable Uranus finally leaving stable Taurus to enter mercurial Gemini, and both Saturn and Neptune entering pioneering Aries. With transformative Pluto moving through revolutionary Aquarius, one thing is for sure: change is in the cards.

How will all of this change play out in your life? It depends! Astrology isn’t one-size-fits-all; the same planetary events might affect all of us in different ways.

In this book, you’ll find descriptions of each sign, overall forecasts for your year ahead, and monthly forecasts that include noteworthy astrological events, New and Full Moons, and a few days that are likely to be especially rewarding or challenging for you. These forecasts won’t cover every single thing that might happen in 2026—you’re much more than just your Sun sign. (You have a Moon sign, Mercury sign, Venus sign, and more!) If you’re looking for specific information, a personal reading tailored to your unique birth chart is your best bet. But if you’re looking for some general guidance for your year ahead, you just might be surprised at how useful a Sun sign forecast can be.

What you won’t find in this book are pie-in-the-sky promises, dire warnings, or lists of ironclad dos and don’ts. Think of this not as a book of rules you have to follow, but as a helpful guide to the astrological landscape you’re about to move through in 2026. Some of it will be lovely and exciting, and some of it may be stressful, but the outcomes aren’t written in stone. Astrology is about possibilities, and it’s up to you to decide what you’ll do with them.

    Strengths and Gifts

Aries, you’re number one! The first sign of the astrological year, that is. The Sun enters your sign with the spring equinox: it’s a time of new beginnings, and this fresh, can-do energy shows up abundantly in your personality. You’re one of the boldest, most assertive signs in the zodiac, never afraid to take charge, take action, or take a big risk.

You understand, Aries, that life is what you make it. Nobody will catch you sitting around waiting for the phone to ring—you’d rather be the one to take the initiative. This means you love starting new things, from projects at work to hobbies to relationships. While some people are scared of asking stupid questions or looking silly in new surroundings, you’re happy to approach life with a beginner’s mindset. After all, everyone has to start somewhere! You understand that sometimes, the best way to learn is to dive in the deep end! You’re not too proud to start from scratch.

Like your symbol, the ram, you’re courageous and ready to meet conflict head-on. In fact, you might be a little too confrontational for some people’s tastes, but really, you’re not aggressive—just assertive. You’d rather get everything out in the open than dance around the issue. You understand that the more you can actually talk about issues—even if it’s uncomfortable—the more easily misunderstandings can be put to bed. This means that it’s rare for you to nurse grudges or let resentments simmer. If you’ve got a problem, you’ll deal with it directly.

Your straightforward nature means that you’re not one to wallow in your problems or sit around feeling sorry for yourself. If you’re feeling bored with your life, trapped in your career, or unhappy in a relationship, you won’t hesitate to act decisively to make a change. You’re probably not the most careful planner in the world, but that’s not always a bad thing. Where others get stuck weighing their options forever or waiting until conditions are perfect before they’ll make their move, you’re too impatient for that! This means you make your share of mistakes—who doesn’t?—but you know how to dust yourself off and keep moving. As far as you’re concerned, it’s not your job to do everything perfectly. Life is for living.

    Friendship and Love

You’re a classic fire sign, Aries, with a natural passion that makes you incredibly attractive to friends and romantic partners alike. With you around, life is never boring! You’re full of energy, ideas, big plans—you make anything seem possible. You’re warm and effusive with the people you care about, and with new people, you’re not scared to make the first move. (If anything, you love the thrill of the chase.) With so many people hesitant to put themselves out there or express their true feelings, your bold straightforwardness can be a real breath of fresh air.

Mars, Aries’s ruling planet, is best known in astrology as the planet of war and aggression. But it’s also the planet of lust and our animal drives. This means that your romantic relationships tend to be hot, passionate, and very physical. If the sexual spark isn’t there, forget it. You’re probably not one who wants to sit around and talk on a first date. You’d rather do something, whether that means go out dancing, go for a bike ride, or simply learn a new skill together.

In relationships of all kinds, it’s rare that you play games—or tolerate anyone who tries to play games with you. If you like someone, you’re likely to tell them straight out, and you tend to expect that others will do the same. This can lead to missed connections: when people drop subtle hints that they like you, there’s a good chance you won’t even notice it!

But you’re not just direct about your positive feelings; you’re also pretty up-front about your negative ones. To put it plainly, you have a hot temper, and you probably don’t try to hide it! When you’re angry or hurt, people are sure to know about it. But while blowing off steam when you’re upset may make you feel better quickly, others don’t always respond well. Learning when it’s best to hold back, and how to choose your words carefully, will improve all of your relationships.

    Work and Money

You have a lot to offer and a lot of energy, Aries, and you’ll do best in roles where you can put your gifts to good use. You appreciate job security and good pay as much as anyone, but not if it means you have to sit at a desk managing spreadsheets all day—you need to be part of the action! Your decisiveness is one of your best traits, and you’ll shine in roles where you have the authority to make big decisions. If you’re struggling at work, there’s a good chance it’s because you’re bored. When you’re adequately stimulated, you can genuinely excel.

At work, and in life in general, you’re not afraid of risk. In fact, risky behavior probably appeals to you on some level. You understand that in order to win big, it’s sometimes necessary to take big chances. When it comes to money, this means that you might be one to gamble on uncertain stocks or crypto. Sometimes this serves you incredibly well, but other times it can land you in trouble. Make a point of having a backup plan in place, no matter how boring or unnecessary it may seem.

    Struggles and Growth

Alongside its strengths, every sign has flaws, too. For you, Aries, your lovely confidence and decisiveness can quickly turn into recklessness and impatience. Though there are times to leap headfirst, you’ll often benefit from taking time—even if it’s only a few minutes!—to come up with a plan first. You also tend to get irritable with the people around you when they’re more cautious than you are. Try to be considerate with your friends who prefer to take life slow and steady: it’ll make your relationships stronger, and when you take the time to listen, you may find that you benefit from their perspective.

Your fighting spirit can also make life unnecessarily difficult. While it’s wonderful to be straightforward about how you feel and what you need—lots of people could stand to follow your lead!—there are situations where tact and diplomacy work better than outright confrontation. Choosing your words with care doesn’t mean you’re being passive-aggressive; it just means you’re being smart!

    Journaling Page

Think about your goals for 2026. Which of your Aries gifts—confidence, decisiveness, willpower, initiative—will you call on to help you achieve them? Which elements of the Aries personality do you want to lean into this year?

    The Year Ahead for Aries

    The Eclipses

Eclipses are often pivotal points in the overarching story of your year. They tend to mark moments of major, often unexpected change. Depending on your own chart, their effects may be subtle or dramatic, but either way, it’s useful to pay attention. There are four eclipses in 2026: a solar eclipse in Aquarius, a lunar eclipse in Virgo, a solar eclipse in Leo, and a lunar eclipse in Pisces.

The first of these is the Aquarius solar eclipse, happening on February 17th. Under this eclipse, there’s a good chance you’ll make new friends or find yourself part of a new community. It’s also possible you’ll meet someone who can connect you to an exciting and unexpected opportunity. Keep an open mind in social situations: you never know who will end up being an important figure in your life.

Two weeks later, a lunar eclipse in Virgo on March 3rd illuminates any areas of discontent in your daily life. If your routines aren’t working or if bad habits are bringing you down, this is an opportunity to see the problem clearly and start making positive change. Even if you don’t feel ready to change your life, the universe might give you the push you need to take action.

On August 12th, expect the solar eclipse in Leo to inject some excitement into your life. Especially if you’ve been taking yourself too seriously lately, this eclipse will push you to remember that life can be fun, too. New romance, creative projects, or even hobbies are likely to present themselves to you. When you’re choosing what to spend time on, remember you don’t have to pick what’s most productive: you’re allowed to choose what’s fun and what makes you feel good.

Finally, the year’s final eclipse is the lunar eclipse in Pisces early in the morning on August 28th. Expect deep feelings to rise to the surface, and give yourself the time and space to process them. Everyone else seems to have opinions about your life, but the best thing you can do right now is get some alone time to figure out how you really feel.

    The Big Picture

While the personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) paint a vivid picture of your personality, moods, and day-to-day experiences, the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) are often better at illuminating the themes of your life over the long term.

Jupiter, planet of generosity and good fortune, begins 2026 in Cancer, where it’s been since June of 2025 and where it’ll remain through June of this year. While it’s moving through intuitive Cancer, you have a chance to make huge strides in your home life. Whether that means finding the perfect place to live, resolving long-standing conflict with family members or roommates, or simply feeling more at home with yourself, any energy you put into these matters will be rewarded. Then in the early hours of June 30th, Jupiter enters Leo, where it’ll remain for the rest of 2026. Let your focus turn to your own creative fulfillment now. What projects make you excited? What brings you pleasure? If you could create anything, what would it be? When you honor your inner boldness and joy, new doors will open up.

Saturn, planet of boundaries and discipline, begins the year in spiritual Pisces, finishing out a cycle that began in March of 2023. Then on February 13th, it moves into Aries, where it’ll be for the rest of the year. Saturn’s presence in your home sign could trigger a crisis of confidence, as it forces you to examine your life as it really is—the good, the bad, and the ugly. It won’t always be easy, but ultimately this can be an incredibly powerful time for building your confidence and learning to love your full, real self, warts and all. Don’t worry so much about what others think of you. The most important thing now is to get to a place where you feel good about yourself.

Unpredictable Uranus begins the year in Taurus, where it’s been (on and off) since 2018. If you’ve been experiencing shake-ups in your financial situation, breathe easy: things may level out once Uranus enters Gemini on April 25th. For the rest of the year, stay open to new friendships, new interests, and new ways of communicating your big ideas. Instead of sticking rigidly to how you think things should go, follow your curiosity: it’ll take you to unexpected (but wonderful) places.

Neptune, planet of dreams and confusion, begins the year in Pisces before moving into Aries on January 26th. (This is a big year for you with both Saturn and Neptune spending the bulk of it in your sign!) While Neptune in Pisces likely drew out your more spiritual side, once Neptune enters Aries, you’ll likely find yourself idealizing action, independence, and self-sufficiency. This year is a time to dream big about freedom—you’ll feel like nothing can hold you back! Just be careful not to take it to an extreme. You’re not an island, and it’s okay to lean on others.

Finally, slow-moving and intense Pluto continues its transit through Aquarius, which lasts until 2043. It’s likely to continue shaking up our social structures. Expect continuing developments in the role technology plays in our lives. On a more personal level, you’ll probably find yourself thinking deeply about the future. If you’re not on a path you can feel good about, Pluto will push you to dig deep, reevaluate, and even transform your life if need be.

    Your Ruling Planet

Your sign, Aries, is ruled by Mars, the planet of drive and desire. Compared to other planets, Mars retrogrades happen relatively infrequently—only about every two years. In 2026, we won’t experience Mars retrograde at all, which is great news for you! Even so, Mars’s energy can be a bit of a double-edged sword: it gives you your passion, energy, and fighting spirit, but it can also stir up trouble.

While Mars is in Capricorn from January 1st to the 23rd, it’s an amazing opportunity to take big strides in career matters. Just be careful about getting drawn into unnecessary ego conflicts with authority figures, especially on the 9th. Mars’s transit of your home sign of Aries, from April 9th through May 18th, is an ideal time to advocate for your needs, but watch out for self-sabotage on April 19th. Finally, November 16th may be one of the luckiest days of the year for you, as Jupiter aligns with your ruling planet in confident, creative Leo. Take the initiative and be direct today, especially in matters of love.

    January

At the start of the year, the Sun, Mars, and Venus are all in Capricorn—and Mercury joins them in the afternoon on the 1st. The first half of this month is a great time for bold resolutions—and, better still, actions—relating to your career. There’s no better time to make your big dreams a reality. Between the 17th and 23rd, all of these planets move into Aquarius, and it’s a good time for socializing and getting out into your community. You never know who you might meet!

    Moon Cycles

The first Full Moon of 2026 is in the sign of Cancer, on January 3rd. Under this Moon, issues at home—from conflict with roommates to a desire to redecorate—are likely to take up your attention. Your private life deserves just as much attention as your public one.

Two weeks later, the New Moon in Capricorn on the 18th is one of the best opportunities of the year for setting fresh intentions in your professional life. What kind of career do you dream about? What new responsibilities do you want to take on?

    Power Days

On the 9th, you’ll be unstoppable when you take the initiative. Just remember that other people’s feelings matter, too! It feels like the whole universe is on your side on the 18th: make the most of it by staying true to yourself but being open to the unexpected. Others will be attracted to your unique side on the 23rd.

    Days to Watch For

Relationships may get rocky on the 10th, especially if you let your temper get the better of you. You’ll probably need a little extra care and support on the 13th, so don’t be too proud to ask for it. On the 29th, your judgment could be a little hazy, especially in matters of the heart: avoid making important decisions just now.

    February

Mercury and Venus move into dreamy Pisces on the 6th and 10th, respectively, and the Sun follows on the 18th. This month, particularly the second half, may feel like a period of hibernation for you. Don’t push yourself to be active! Rest when you need to, and you’ll come back stronger than ever. Once Mercury retrograde begins on the 26th, it’s even more important to slow down. If you avoid jumping to conclusions about others, you’ll save yourself a lot of heartache.

    Moon Cycles

A Full Moon in Leo lights up the sky on the 1st. If you’re single, you could meet someone special today. If you’ve felt blocked creatively, inspiration might strike. Something exciting has been building behind the scenes, and it’s finally coming into view under this Moon.

The 17th brings the first eclipse of the year, a solar eclipse in Aquarius. This eclipse could bring surprises in your social life, or it could open doors to possible futures you hadn’t dared to imagine. The best thing you can do is keep an open mind and see what happens.

    Power Days

On the 19th, you’ll be especially capable, if also a bit sensitive: it’s a perfect day to channel your energy into caring for loved ones. Spend quality time with others on the 23rd; it’s an excellent time for deepening your bond with new people. On the 28th, you’ve got all the intuition and common sense you need to make strong decisions.

    Days to Watch For

It will be incredibly easy for misunderstandings to pop up on the 5th, so don’t assume! If you’re not sure, ask. You may feel uncharacteristically insecure on the 12th, especially at work. Don’t lash out: this will pass. Overconfidence could be a problem on the 20th, so take things slow and steady.

    March

When Mars moves into Pisces on the 2nd, it could signal a slower period for you. Focus now on rest, regeneration, and inner work. Things start to pick up—especially in your love life—when Venus enters Aries on the 6th, followed by the Sun on the 20th. (Mercury retrograde ends on the 20th, too!) You’ll be at your most attractive and charming between the 20th and 30th. Whether you’re dating, looking to rekindle an existing relationship, or simply interested in meeting new people, make the most of this time.

    Moon Cycles

On the 3rd, expect the lunar eclipse in Virgo to shake up your daily routines. If you’ve felt stuck in a rut, this could be just the push you need to transform your life. Even if you’re happy with the status quo, trust that the change will be good for you.

On the 18th, the New Moon in Pisces may have you feeling more sensitive than ever. Don’t fight it or rush into problem-

solving mode—there will be plenty of time for action later. For now, it’s enough to simply feel your feelings.

    Power Days

The 9th is a great day for having new experiences with your partner—and if you’re single, there’s a good chance you’ll meet someone new. The 13th is the perfect day for opening up about your feelings, especially if there’s something you’ve been holding back. Creative or emotional breakthroughs are likely on the 27th.

    Days to Watch For

You may experience a lack of clarity about your own needs and desires on the 4th, so avoid making important relationship decisions today if possible. On the 12th, you’ll probably experience some tension between what you have to do and what you want to do. Conflict with family members or roommates could arise on the 25th: don’t be afraid to assert your boundaries.

    April

Mars and Mercury join the party in Aries on the 9th and 14th, respectively. On top of that, there are no retrograde planets all month! You have the power now to transform yourself and your life, whether it’s something as small as a new hairstyle or something more fundamental to your identity. The Sun enters Taurus on the 19th, then Venus enters Gemini on the 24th, ushering in a good time for flirting, dating, and generally putting yourself out there.

    Moon Cycles

On the 1st, the Full Moon in Libra could test your close relationships. Any unfairness will be highlighted, and it’s up to you to reset the balance. Don’t hesitate to fight for what you need—but don’t be too proud to compromise, either.

Then on the 17th, a New Moon in Aries gives you one of your best opportunities all year to reinvent yourself. It’s possible now to leave behind the baggage of the past and move forward as a new cycle begins. All you have to be today is yourself.

    Power Days

Your willpower is turbocharged on the 16th: no challenge is too great for you, so be ambitious! On the 18th, you can talk your friends into virtually anything, so use your powers of persuasion responsibly. You might feel frustration
