Haroutioun W. Najarian

My name is Haroutioun W. Najarian. I was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, in a humble Armenian family, until my 15th year. While my parents did not participate actively in church services, our family did attend church, and it was through my visits to various Armenian churches alongside them that a seed of faith was nurtured in me. In 2002, my family and I moved to California. Shortly after graduating from high school, I met my wife, Nicole, who introduced me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As I began to explore the teachings of the Church, I found answers to profound questions such as our origins, our purpose, and the nature of the afterlife. My previous hesitance to fully and actively embrace Christianity was largely due to the confusing array of denominations, which left many of my questions unanswered. However, the insights I gained through the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reignited the seed of faith I had set aside for many years. As a recent convert, I feel a profound inspiration to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and bear witness to the truth of His restored Church. The concept of penning this narrative commenced when I began to record my testimony in hopes to defend my faith in Jesus Christ as well as his prophets spanning across both old and new eras.

    Interpreting the Language of God

A prophet is to act as God’s messenger and make known God’s will. He teaches men about God’s character, showing the full meaning of His dealings, therefore part of the prophetic office is to preserve and edit the records of the nation’s history.

A prophet of God is also called to teach the people to join perfectly together in the same mind and in the same judgment, just as Jesus implored: Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be One, as we are. (John 17:11)

Likewise, Apostle Paul admonished the members of the Church of Jesus Christ:

I beseech you brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (1 Corinthians 1:10)

Without the presiding authority of a prophet, people are plagued, they’re tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the philosophies of men, and the misleading voices of this world debating the true character of God.

These voices teach for doctrines the commandments of men, who have a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God… (Romans 13:1-2)

Subsequently the differences of one another’s opinion on the subject of religion, have caused the unity of the body of Christ to be divided into various denominations among his believers. The history of the tower of Babel demonstrates the consequences of such debates: when they could not understand one another… the Lord scattered them abroad upon the face of all the earth. (Genesis 11:7-9)

Hence, in former days as well as in latter days, independent interpretation of scriptures has become the breach of our joint fellowship in having One mind, One heart, and One judgment in Christ, which is the essence of oneness.

The doctrine of the Trinity for instance, has been a source of confusion and discord within the faithful community of Christ. The scriptures, however, testify that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace… (1 Corinthians 14:33)

Regrettably, due to the lack of clarity in this doctrine, [many] worship [they] know not what. (John 4:22)

This underscores the critical need for all followers of Christ to learn of the distinct entities of God the Father, his Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Although they exist as one in purpose, they are three separate personages.

Abraham, for example, did not seek to sacrifice himself; rather, he intended to offer his only begotten son as a foreshadowing of the arrival of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who rose from the dead and became One with His Father.

Likewise, there are many biblical passages that counter the man-made creeds concerning the nature of the Trinity.

Jesus Christ himself bore witness to the existence of his Father as distinct from himself. He declared; "If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which He witnesseth of me is true.

I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which [the Father] hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that [the Father] hath sent me.

And [the Father] himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape." (John 5:31-37)

However, John the Baptist, chosen by God, acknowledged the voice of the Father, as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew. This account distinctly differentiates between God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, emphasizing their unique existence as three separate beings.

The passage states: "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Three separate beings, one in purpose, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established." (Matthew 18:16)

Apostle Paul expressed his concerns to the Saints, noting that similar to the Israelites, many would obscure theological understanding. He remarked, I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3)

Today, the teachers of religion who instruct others in understanding God have, in many instances, stripped away the tangible aspects of the divine, presenting our Father solely as an abstract force or an intangible and shapeless spirit. However, when questioned about the Father, Jesus affirmed, he that hath seen me hath seen the Father (John 14:9), thereby confirming that the image and the likeness of the Father are similar to our own.

In fact, the first held article of faith, revealed by God to his prophet, Joseph Smith, for Latter-day Saints, proclaims, We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also, but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us. (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22)

Much like the oneness advocated within the doctrine of Jesus Christ, in Genesis 2:24, we read, Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be One flesh.

This does not imply a physical merging, nor does it suggest a literal fusion of a man and woman into a single being.Instead, it signifies that while the husband and wife remain distinct individuals, they are intended to be One in mind, One in heart, and One in purpose, similar to the relationship shared among the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The intercessory prayer of Christ is another unequivocal recognition of the distinct characteristics within the Godhead. Jesus pleaded; Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be One, as we are... That they all may be One; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be One in us… And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be One, even as we are One: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in One. (John 17:11, 21-23)

Therefore, dear reader, exercise caution, for deception is the leaven of the adversary; he is the master minister of twisting and fabricating the Word of God. If we therefore reject God’s Holy prophets, we will allow Satan to slither his way into our perception of Godhood and eventually into our moral views.

Outside of God’s kingdom, division rules, always has, and always will. This is evidenced by the earth itself from the beginning, as depicted in the scripture where a river went out of Eden to water the garden; from thence, it was Parted! (Genesis 2:10)

Likewise, recognizing the imminent rejection he would encounter as a prophet and particularly as the Son of God, along with the temporary dismantling of his kingdom for a time, times, and half a time as foretold in Revelation 12:14, Jesus Christ proclaimed: All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. (Matthew 26:31)

The adversary does not oppose religion; on the contrary, he uses it as an enchantment to spread his own gospel of lies to deceive and divide any stronghold he can, even from a pulpit at times.

It was Jesus who stated, "For many shall come in my name, [as Christians], saying I am Christ; and shall deceive many." (Matthew 24:5)

Therefore, we must remember that Satan has mastered the art of concision; his interpretation of the Word of God is mingled with Truth, to simulate the gospel of Christ.

He Prophesy’s not unto us right things, but speaks unto us smooth things, he prophesy’s deceits: (Isaiah 30:10)

He hires ministers who preach unconditional forgiveness, only to rob from the justice of God. What? do ye suppose that mercy can rob justice? I say unto you, Nay; not one whit. If so, God would cease to be God. (Alma 42:25)

Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven said Jesus, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21)

Even from the beginning, Satan has been ministering his way into the hearts of the faithful through private interpretation of the Word. Remember how he persuaded Eve to partake of that which was forbidden by God?

He preached a lie, saying, Ye shall not surely die, then he ministered truth, declaring: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (Genesis 3:5)

His ministry is tailored to deliver the word of God out of its context in such a promoting way that after hearing him and his ministers preach, many cast themselves down thinking: God shall give his angels charge concerning [us]: and in their hands they shall bear [us] up, lest at any time [we] dash [our] foot against a stone." (Matthew 4:6)

Others fail to make sense of it all; hence they are led to reject religion entirely and adopt an agnostic stance. However, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is much less like jumping off the thin air of self-will, and a lot more like following the footsteps of Christ, revealed through the sound of the trumpet, which is voiced by his living prophets and apostles. Isn’t that how the walls of Jericho fell? (Joshua 6)

Entering into the kingdom of heaven is not negotiable!! There are eternal aggregations; there are steps ordained by God that must be followed, as written: behold, a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven, and behold, the Lord stood above it. (Genesis 28:12-13)

Be not deceived; God is not mocked, (Galatians 6:7), we cannot skip the rungs on that ladder! For wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: but strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)

    Sin No More

The Adversary is deception personified; his desire is to trade our will in value of his promising illusions behind whited walls, which in reality veil the sepulchers of bone dust. His ministry does not contain the keys to bind what is done on earth to heaven, and all his promises are Till Death Do Us Part.

He teaches that there are no consequences for the choices we make, and as long as we give lip service to God, then someday all our sins shall be washed away, and we shall all go to heaven because Jesus paid for our sins.

That is a false notion; the truth is, yes, Christ died for us. while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8), but not to keep us ignorant of our sins, Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (2 Corinthians 2:11)

Therefore, Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. (Acts 3:26)

Didn’t Matthew write: Jesus shall save his people, [From] their sins? (Matthew 1:21)

But if we preserve our sins, how shall he save us? Therefore, Christ said that those who hear his sayings, and do them not, he will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity! (Matthew 7:23-24)

What? Shall we dismiss all his teachings because he offered himself for our sins?

God forbid! If we continue in our sins, after we take his name upon us, we shall crucify to ourselves the Son of God afresh and put him to an open shame. (Hebrews 6:6)

As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. (Proverbs 26:11)

Therefore, to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (James 4:17)

For instance, to whom said Jesus, Sin No More! lest a worse thing come unto thee: was it not a faithful man he Healed "who had an infirmity thirty and eight
