    Angel of Darkness 2024

My name is Lily Webb, and this is my story about my friend, Nico, who came to me when I needed him the most, when nobody would help me or listen to me. I pretty much keep to myself. I really don't have many friends.

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. My mother is a psychiatrist at a mental institution. My dad died when I was nine years old. He was killed in a car accident. The mental institution is just outside of Las Vegas. I have an older brother named Michael. He's in college at the University of Las Vegas. Michael has a drinking problem, which my mother is in denial of. He also has a gambling problem that she also denies. We are Catholic. Every Sunday, we get up and go to church. My mother firmly believes in the Bible, especially about the supernatural. Recently I've been having doubts that church is the right place for me. When I sleep at night, I think I see people in red robes with yellow eyes that glow looking at me in my bedroom. They don't say anything or do anything to me, just stand over me when I try to sleep.

One night while working at a hotel casino, on the way out to my car, I got sick and threw up on the street of the parking lot. All of a sudden, I heard a voice asking, Are you okay?

I wiped my mouth and I looked up. I saw a tall man with jet-black hair, pasty white skin, with long fingernails.

I said, I'm fine, thank you for asking. When I stood up and got myself together, I asked him his name.

He said, It's Nico. Nico told me that I needed to go to the hospital. I told him, I feel fine now. My name is Lily Webb. The next thing I know, I passed out. When I woke up, I was in a hospital bed. My mother and Michael were in the room with me.

I asked, What happened to me?

My mother said my appendix burst, and I had to have surgery to take it out.

    Where's Nico? I asked.

    Michael said, Who?

The person that brought me here. He's got a gothic look to him. He's pasty white, long fingernails.

Nobody here is like that. We have to go now. It's getting late, Michael said. My mother and Michael went home.

I got up to go to the bathroom. When I get back to me bed, I saw a person sitting in a chair. It was Nico.

Thank you for saving me. I've could've died if you didn't bring me here, I said.

I told them what was wrong with you, then they brought you here. They said I could come along. I don't like hospitals, he said.

Then what are you doing here?

I wanted to see how you're doing,, he said.

How did you know something was wrong with me?

I can sense things, he said.

Are you dressed like that because it's almost Halloween? I asked.

No, this is really who I am. Hold your breath. I'm a vampire, he said.

    Yeah right!

No, really, I am. Look in the mirror. Do you see a reflection? he asked.
