Other books by Albert Corey
T his book is dedicated to our Lord Jesus Christ without whom I wouldn’t be here, and I would not have been given any purpose or road to follow in this life. He gets all the honor and the glory.
I want to say THANK YOU to Beth Ferris, a special friend who helped me put this book together and who has a knack for finding the things I for some reason constantly miss.
Also, a shout-out and love to Pastor Chip McGee, Worship Leader Lindsey McGee and Celebrate Recovery Pastor Brian King without whose dedication to the ministries at our church I would not have been inspired to write some of the poems included.
To Create
Standing against a world of darkness
With no words at my command
Just a desire to create something
To add more beauty if I can
Not because it will be better
Than anything written before
More like a new instrument
Never heard at all
Wanting to join the band
Not to be the star
Just wanting to add another note
To the melody or harmony bar
Hoping others will understand
Wanting to say, I was here
Before this precious life I have
Disappears
The Song
Do not let the song go out of your life.
Fight with all the strength you have.
For once the song inside you dies
And the words no longer rhyme,
Your song will lie on the Cutter’s floor,
And there will be . . .
No more time
You Never Know
Cherish all your friends
Admire the works of God
Dance while you can
Befriend a stranger
Lift up the poor
Love the unlovable
Pray without ceasing
For you never know
What life will bring
And rarely
Get to know why
When We Die
When we die
In those years by and by
What is left to mark our time
Our sojourn in this place?
Will there be signs
To say we passed here
Or did anything change
At all?
Forward
A s age sets in some things tend to concern us more than when we were young. We are not able to do some of the physical things or remember many of the things we could easily do before. As we get older our reliance on God feels like it needs to increase, but it really should still be the same if we have been following Christ and relying on Him all through our lives. We should continue to praise God and thank Him for all the things in our lives: our health, our welfare, the air we breathe, the lives we have
