Lalitha Sahasranamam With Meanings - Part 1
()
About this ebook
Our routine, in a day's activities, unfailingly included the Paaraayana of Vishnu Sahashranaamam and Lalitha Sahasranaamam. A question to our own selves arose that a practice of routine Paaraayanam alone is not the End but only a Start of the QUEST in us to explore deeper into the contents and profoundness of the meaning of the Sahashra Naama on Maa Lalithambika. Sri Chakra and its geometrical portrayal, is a marvel, a well calculated scaling of the Yanthraya that can create wonders in a man's mystical thinking, if only focused with a pointed mind.
It was during the Navratri Dussehra Celebrations 2021, we decided to make a humble attempt of describing 1000 Naamaas of Divine Maatha Sri Lalithambika in English exclusively for the benefit of the descendants, at least, to have the basic idea about the marvels of these Naamaas as chosen by the Vaag Devathaas. A pride and ignorance in us, that we could complete it in a short time, prevailed at the start and the budding of this attempt.
We exercised meticulous care in collecting the information from various sources suited to the Naamaas and exercised care in remaining as Authentic as far as the possibilities took us along.
This booklet contains only a miniscule understanding of the Vast Subject after we have set in our journey in the Philosophical and Vedantic studies at our convenience taking sources from all that are available to us and we are exposed to.

INTRODUCTION
Our routine, in a day’s activities, unfailingly included the Paaraayana of Vishnu Sahashranaamam and Lalitha Sahasranaamam. A question to our own selves arose that a practice of routine Paaraayanam alone is not the End but only a Start of the QUEST in us to explore deeper into the contents and profoundness of the meaning of the Sahashra Naama on Maa Lalithambika. Sri Chakra and its geometrical portrayal, is a marvel, a well calculated scaling of the Yanthraya that can create wonders in a man’s mystical thinking, if only focused with a pointed mind.
As our journey started, and in a short time, we could realise how ignorant and childish our misjudged thinking was, to just complete these in a short and specified period. If only, the Blessings of Maa Devi Lalithambika is bestowed, could it be possible to even have a thought on these lines. Then, where do we stand in cruising the Great Pacific with a small rafter? Having only bestowed with a little knowledge. A great task of choosing and Hunting for expanded and detailed information on these Divine Naamaas.
Great Scholars like Brahma Sri. S.V. Radhakrishnan, traditionally trained, a vedantic at the scholastic heights, having imbibed and took out the Gems out of a great depths of an unfathomable Ocean, has already privileged the aspirants and the Devotees of Maa Lalitha has already published a detailed commentary on the Sahashra Naama and this has become the basis of all the studies related to the Sahasra Naama. This Work of Sri SVR has induced and kindled in us the desire to know more and more, and explore further on this illimited expanse of the Ocean of Nectar.
It is a highly difficult task to measure and define in a few words the content packed Naamaas with deep inner meaning. We have started our journey during the Navratri Festival 2021 leaving everything and every effort of ours to the Divine and Lotus Feet of our Guru His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Maha Swamigal Sri. Chandra Sekarendra Saraswathi, but for Whose Blessings our mission would not be fulfilled. Sri Mahaa Swamigal is an embodiment and an incarnation of Maa Kamakshi Herself and needless that, we as His ardent Devotees, are to be inferred as chosen Blesseds to dip our mind and soul into this Great Mission.
Anything found to be inconsistent with the Naama and the depth that it actually contains, shall be attributable to our Ignorance and we plead with all humility to set aside all such noticeable mistakes.Devotionally Yours,
S. Ramaprasad

SRI LALITHA SAHASRANAMAM
Sri Ganeshaya Namaha
Sri Gurubhyo Namaha
Sri Maathre Namah: Sarva Mangalayee Nama:
Sri Lalithambikayai Nama:
Sri Maathaa Bhuvaneshwari showers Her Grace upon all the Beings on this Earth being her creation, needless to say the compassion that the Mother of Her children has and fosters.
The Sahasranamam SLOKAMs of Sri Matha Lalithambika is just an extract of innumerable crores of her naamaas chosen by the Vaag Devathaas Viz., Who are eight in numbers. Devi is vaak Sakthi.speech is very important in our day today lives and therefore Devi herself has manifested as vaak Sakthi for our benefits.
Shruthi, Smruthi, Puranaanam
Shruthi, the Vedaas, Smruthi, the one remembered and practised, Puraanam, these are the containment of depictions in story forms to explain the central theme of the Vedaas.
Vedaas are 4 in number - Rig,Yajur,Sama and Atharva. Puranas are authored by Sri Veda Vyasa as learnt.
Puranas help us follow the scriptures i.e Vedaas and Upanishads in a way easily followed by an ordinary Saadaka. The puranas are 18 in numbers and they are Vishnu, Naradiya, Padma, Garuda, Varaha, Bhagavata, Matsya, Kurma, Linga, Shiva, Skanda, Agni, Brahmanda, Brahmavaivarta, Markandeya, Bhavishya, Vamana, Brahma Puranas.
These Puranas were retold by Sudhar to Sownagar and other Rishi Munis in Naimisaranyam during the performance of Sathra Yaagam.
Sarva Mangalaa is the form of Sri Lalithambika who is the ultimate PEACE and BLISS. She is the source of all contentment and Gnanaa to her subjects through unstinted devotion and faith.
The universe stands before us as real, the one which exists. Then it must be a creation. Then there must be a goal. The creation of Humanity has a specific Goal. These are called Purushaarthaas. They are Dharmam Artham Kaamaa Mosham (Aram Porul Inbam and Veedu as told in Tamil) The Dhrmam and the Artham support in springing up of kamam and Moksham.
Kaamam here does not mean only Desire. It is the Desire never out of prescription from the Dharma and Artha. This is well within the norms prescribed and if practised leads to the Attainment of Moksha. If not privileged to attain moksha in this birth at least this will lead to a better evolved birth next.
Here it is imperative and relevant to adopt a style of living with utmost devotion professing faith in the scriptures whatever it prescribes. Therefore every person should devise a style in his life fully tuned to the requirements of Devotion, Bhakthi and Dharma...
As a prelude to the Main Sahasra Namaa of Lalitha there are 51 SLOKAMs. One Dyana SLOKAM 182 SLOKAMs containing the 1000 Naamas and finally 85 SLOKAMs in Phalasruthi. These SLOKAMs are from Brahmmanda Puranam as told by Hayagreevaa to Agastya Maharishi.
Brammanda puranam is one of the 18 Puranas by Sri Vyasa Maharshi. This has Prakriya Paadham, Anusanga, Ubothkadha, Upasamhara paadham. At the end of Upasamhara we find Lalithopakyanam. In Lalithopakyanam, there are 7 kaandaas. Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam is in the 7th kaanda.
Sage Agastya received this mantradesham from SriHayagreeva.
Hayagreeva:
In Devi Bhagavatham, first skandha, 5th chapter we find the details of Sri Hayagreeva.
The story goes thus: when Lord Maha-Vishnu’s marriage was in a predicament of having head cut off accidentally, Devi blessed Him by fixing head with a horse’s head. He is revered as a giver of wisdom who was bestowed with knowledge straight from Devi. The horse is also a symbolic expression of power and energy.
The receiver of this upadesam is sage Agasthya. He represents humility as he is depicted as a short stature person. He is the husband of Lopamudra who is one of the authors of Srividya Mantra. Agasthya and Lopamudra are great devotees of Parasakthi Lalithamba.
The special feature of this Sahasranama is that it falls within the only 3 Sahasranamas which has been covered by Baashyam or Commentaries. The other special feature is that the naamaas are not repetitive and does not have any conjunctions in between the naamaas as normally used in Sanskrit Form thus...Sa...Vai...Thu...Hi...Eva...etc.
The next important feature of the Lalitha Sahasranamam is that it contains Yanthra Roopam, Mantra Roopam, Thathwa Roopam of the rituals that one may suitably choose to one’s convenience. This can be practised in the form of Parayana, SLOKAM roopa...etc. in tune with the convenience.
Another aspect of this is the name given by Sri Bhaskararaya by whose commentaries and explanations we are blessed to know the meanings of the naamaas), is Sowbagyadaayaka Bhaskaram. It means the book shines as the 12 kalas of sun, with the naamaas of Devi.
Manthram differs from Parayanam...When we refer to this as Manthram it is needless that one who practises is a strict observer of discipline. (The Aachaara and Anushtaana, Niyamaa and yama Sama) Imperative is that one should have been properly initiated (upon fulfilment of the requirements of the Saadakaas as specified in Sadhana Panchakam) The initiation of Srividya Manthram is necessary in these lines.
We can substantiate that the Saadakaa must have been a Blessed Person to even recite the Parayana or to strictly observe the Niyama Poojaa Padhdhathis in this respect. This must be a Poorva Punyam. The Blessings earned over Generations.
But my experience in getting to know the intricacies and depth in detail about the Sahasranaama is a great Boon that I happen to get it through one of my Well wishers who had accidentally put a question to me...Are you fully involved
in the Parayanam which meant, was it a mere recitation or with full involvement endowed with the inner meaning of the Treasure of the Sahashra Naama...This question to me was a Bhodhi tree analogous to the one Sri Gauthama Bhudhdha experienced.
It is this force that guided me to follow to an extent the intricacies and inner meanings of Devi’s Sahasranamam.
CHAPTER 2
The second chapter starts with the poorva baag of Bhagavatham.
We should always begin with a salutary dhyana to Lord, the remover of obstacles. Prasanna vadanam dyayeth sarva upa shanthaye
. A vandanam.
After listening to the Divine history of Sri Lalitha from Sri.Hayagreeva, Sri Agasthya raised a doubt.``Respected Sri.Hayagreeva! Why Have I not been revealed the Most powerful Lalitha Sahasranama stotram? Don’t I have the eligibility yet?"
To which Sri.Hayagreeva replies,Oh Agasthya! You and your wife Lopamudra are so devoted to Mother Lalitha.so I will reveal it to you now,the one which was held as a secret.
Before the start, we should know the poorva bhag, in which the entire appearance and Divine purana of Sri Matha was told. This was found in Brahmanda Purana. The Divine history of Sri Matha is told elaborately which is known as Lalithopaakyaana.
In brief:
Sati Devi, daughter of Daksha was married to Shiva. Dhaksha, having developed a hatred for Shiva, didn’t invite him to a yagnya he conducted. But Sati went to the Yagnya with the disapproval of Shiva and was also insulted by Daksha.unable to bear the insult she burnt her body.Shiva came and from his locks created Veerabhadra and sent him to behead Dhaksha.
Then Sati was born as Parvati to Himvan and Menaka.
She was sent to shiva to do services as he was in the ecstasy of yoga.
A demon by name Taraka was disturbing the celestials and it was told that a son born to Shiva and Parvati could kill Taraka.
In order to make it happen, Manamda was sent to distract Shiva. Shiva burnt him to ashes. The ashes were used as a doll by a Gana and taken before Shiva and the doll sprang to life.
The doll prostrated before Shiva and Chitrakarma who taught him Shata Rudreeya mantra. He undertook penance. Shiva appeared and gave him a boon thatanyone fighting against him would lose half of his strength and that strength should be added to him. Also another boon of ruling the kingdom for 60000 years. Lord Brahma swore
bandmeaning,
shame "and that became the name for Banda who became an Asuraa later on because of his wild activities due to the boon given.
From the rest of the ashes came demons, horses, soldiers were formed into a unit and guru Sukracharya took charge of them to teach them anushtanas. The city came to be known as shoonyaka Pattana. Bhandasura was crowned as a king.
He wanted to destroy devas and started atrocious activities in all the 14 worlds by entering in vayu roopam and draining the fluids of the beings. All lost their interests in any worldly activities and became weak.
The traumatised devas started performing yoga and about to sacrifice their lives, when Sri Matha in the form of Lalithambika arose from Chitakni kuntam.
The Bandasura Watham takes place. After the victory she places Herself in Sri Chakra, Meru, Sripuram and Srimath Panchadaskshari. In Nyasa Kaanta, shodanyaasa was explained. In Pooja kaantaa, anthar, Bahia and maha Yaga methods were taught to Agasthya. Purascharana kaantaa methods to recite Japams, homa kaantaa, how to collect and prepare materials for homa were explained. In Rahasya kaantaa, Devi, Sri Chakra, Srividya, Guru, Shishyas, the removal of indifferences among these 5, the oneness to be understood were told by Sri Hayagreeva to Agasthya.
We will be learning in detail on the Bandasuravadha, Sripuram, and the Panchadasakshari as we proceed to learn the meanings of the 1000 naamaas of Devi.
Sri Agasthya, having listened to Laithopakyana from Hayagreeva asked him why he was not told about Lalitha SahasraNamam.
Sri Hayagreeva revealed that it was held a secret for it should reach the right and deserving ears but now he would tell this to Agasthya as he and his wife Lopamudra are great devotees of Matha.
The Lalitha Sahasranama Mahathmyam:
Just as The srividya mantra which starts with kakaram( Ka ae ee la Hrim)is the best among mantras, and sripuram is the best among nagaras, laithamaba, the most revered Shakti and Lord Shiva, the best among srividya upasakas, Lalitha sahasranamam is the best among sahasranamam.
We have to recite this everyday and so Devi will be pleased and bless us.one can do a simple Pooja ritual by offering flowers like lotus, Bilbao and thulasi on srichakra, do proper srichakra Pooja with Panchadasakshari, or even simple parayanam. The devotees will be blessed with sakala sowbagyam and sarva sampat.
CHAPTER 3
Japa Vidhanam Nyasam
Kara Nyasam, Anga Nyasam
The Meaning, Procedure, the need and effects
Manthram. Mananaath Thrayathe Manthraha. We have seen Shravanam-the concentrated Listening. The next stage for a saadakaa to involve himself or herself is in the Mananam. The Mantras once chanted within with a blissful happiness and dedication will take care of the Sadakan in his pursuit of Sadhana.
Manthram: This consists of more than 10 Aksharaas and less than 20 Aksharas. This is unlike Bheeja Manathram; those are limited within 3 to 9 Aksharaas.
Nyasam is an exercise or the process through which one is able to feel that his or her Sthoola and Sookshma sareeram gets one with or one as the Very Manthra Devatha.
The Nyasams are listed below:
Poorva Jeba Baagam:
Rushinyaasam, Shandasnyaasam, Devathanyasam, Bhijanyasam, Sakthinyassam, Kelaknyasam, Viniyoganyasam, Karanyasam,(6) Anganyasam(6), Dighbhandhanam, Dyaanam, Pancha Pooja (5).
Paksha Baagam:
This is a ritualistic practice called Digvimogam, and Samarpanam. All these put together form 28 parts.
NYASAM: It is already said that the Nyasam is a ritual involving both mental and physical exercises leading one to the BHAVANA that the saadakaa himself or herself is the Very Devatha within. He creates Athishtaanas in every part of his or her Body, placing the Devathaa and forming a Well Protected Castle like the body of Sthoola, Sookshma Sareera.
Every Manthra, Paaraayana and Jepa, has a designated Vaag Devathaa and the Rishi who is responsible in identifying the Very Goddess or the God in the Manthra Roopa from out of the Yogik Powers as seen in the cosmos floating as audio identifiable only through the Yoga and Dhyaanaa. We may say that these are the rishis who are the authors of the mantras.
It is therefore evident that the Manthra pertaining to the devatha being worshipped is framed by the Gnaanis and also to the Vaag devathaas who are responsible to bring it out in the form of Sonic Vibrations(the Mantras). Every Manthram has been set to a certain Chandas (meter) and this is very essential. This swara Roopaa
or the Chandas adds divinity to the Mantras. The vibrations bring in the harmony and the oneness with the very Devatha.
When the sandakan sets in for the Parayanam, say a parayanam of Lalitha Sahasranaamam. Let us discuss in detail. The Vasinyaadi Devathaas are the Vaag Devathaas for this Sahasranamam. The Saadaka first performs the Sankalpam with the recitation of the invocation mantra of the Ganesha and then a sankalpam Shuklam Baradharam
then Mamo partha Samastha
.
Then "Asya Sri Lalitha Sahasranama Maalaa Maha Manthrasya Manthraysa, Vasinyaadi Vaag Devatha Rishiya: (Touching the Head with the Right hand paying respects to the Rishi Munis who are responsible and authors of the Manthram) Anushtup Chandaha: (Paying respect to the Chandas by touching the mouth portion with the Right hand) The Chandas are the meters those are responsible for the right vibrations and right effect of the mantras then Mahaa Thripura Sundari Devatha…the Devatha representing the Union of The Shiva and Sakthi as Aikyam.(Touching the Hrudhaya with the right hand fingers together)
The Manthram is like a Banyan Tree which comes out of a small seed or the Bheejam. If the tree is the Sthoola, the Bheejam is the Sookshumaa.
The shookshuma, is ever virulent and powerful and encompasses and contains in a compressed form all the virtues of the Tree till it is bloated and germinated. The Sookshumaa contains the Bheejam, Sakthi and Keelakam. The Nyaasaa performed in respect of this Sookshuma is called Bheejanyasam.
There is another important term to be understood that is Viniyoga Nyaasam and this refers to the particular purpose for which the Jeba or the Paaraayana is performed. To fulfil the Ishti Kamya Pala Prapyartham.
KARANYASAM:
Karanyasam is the process by which the performer of the Jeba cleanses his or her palm and fingers by certain finger movements simultaneously addressing the respective fingers…and the palm. This is essential that our palms and fingers become absolutely spotless and clean virtually. The Karanyasa mantras is prefixed by the Bheeja Manthram pertaining to the particular Devatha. An understanding is required about the Bheeja Manthra while one is set out to the Manthra Parayanam of Lalitha.
CHAPTER 4
Dhyanam
Japavidhanam/ Dhyanam
SriLalitha who is the supreme God has supreme form, unlimited power, who is capable of controlling the universe. Lalitha Sahasranamam describes the Sthoola, sookshma and mantra and kundalini forms of Her. One should move beyond and understand the inner meanings that are revealed as we proceed.
Behind those forms there is a tathwa. Reciting the names itself is a benefit and the phalasruthy gives an innumerable and detailed benefits of chanting this Sahasranamam. Even reciting and understanding one name will transform us mentally and physically. Now let us start with dhyana SLOKAMS.
Dhyana slokas:
Sindhuraruna vigraham trinayanam manikya mouli spurath
Thara Nayaga sekaram smitha mukhi mapina vakshoruham,
Panibhayam alipoorna ratna chashakam rakthothpalam vibhrathim,
Soumyam ratna gatastha raktha charanam, dhyayeth paramambikam.
Meditate on that Ambika,
Who has a body of the colour of saffron,
Who has the three graceful eyes,
Who has a jeweled crown,
Adorned by the moon,
Who always has a captivating smile,
Who has high and firm breasts,
Who has wine filled cup made of precious stones,
And reddish flowers in her hands,
Who forever is the ocean of peace,
And who keeps her red holy feet.
On a jeweled platform.
Meaning of the sloka:
Sindhuraruna vigraham - Sindhura Aruna Vigrahaam
Sindhuram : Sindhuram is saffron. Aruna means as red as a rising (udhikkinra ) Bala Surian, which is warm, safe and Bright. Aruna is also the charioteer of surya.
Vigrahaam - image
Meditate on that Ambika who has the body as the colour of the saffron.
Sindhura, the saffron colour also indicates Renunciation. Mother says Be one with me, leave your desires behind. Dissolve the karma in this janma.
Aruna is red, like fire that gives knowledge... What is that knowledge?
To know one’s role in the universe. Mahavakya says I am the splinter of Parabramma so I have a role which is, ‘to know the truth’- Sathyam
So Mother through sindhuraruna that says ‘renounce and get knowledge about why we are here...’
Vigraham the form, reminds us of the body, mind consciousness which is to be forgotten by merging into Her form.
The following is the gist:
The supreme mother takes the form and is of the colour Sindooram Arunam, so lively and tenderly as of an early morning Sun to look at, Motherly, having the role of making her children desire less, to lead one towards renouncing the karma and (the residuals of the previous birth ) Leading one towards truth.
Thrinayanam:
She was not born but appeared out of Chidagni Kundam Where all our desires are burnt and resulting in the appearance of Maathaa Lalitha with thrinayanam, the third eye.
Inner theme of the dhyana slokam is this:
Leave all the worldly desires. Be one with the Maatha. Burn all your desires. Take a total surrender. The evolution of Gnanam in oneselves shall be a positive result.
Before moving to this we have to know the meaning for certain words::
Chidagni kunda Sambhhoothaa: The Universe and Everything perishes at one stage. There are Two types for the end of the world
All the creations whether it be human or any, leave the world abruptly keeping the backlog of karmas. This is sasesha pralayam, Seshan means the remainder. Nirvisesha pralayam in which not only the creations but also devas, Shiva,Vishnu in totality perish.
At that parlaya kaala there happens a huge fire. Imagery.
In the fire our desires are the woods which are burnt with with the help of clarified butter which is Gnyana Agni. Lalithambika who appears gives the Gnyana Agni, chit Agni.
She appears out of chit Agni when Her head is seen first. The three eyes or the third eye of Lalithambika has to be meditated upon. We all have the third eye. But we don’t use it. With wisdom alone it can open up.
The left eye represents the future, and the right eye is the past. human mind keeps oscillating between past, present and future. So the third eye should be opened to stop the thought vrutti and give peace of mind.
Maanikya mouleem Spurath Thara Nayaka sekaram: This is how Lalithambika appears from chidagni kuntam.
Initially her head, with kreetam bejeweled with 9 gems is seen.
Only a person with supremacy can wear a crown like that.
9 gems: The aabaranaas are not to enhance beauty but to control the organs and give victory. Necklace, anklets, etc.she wears 9 gems representing the planets. The planets control the humans.she controls the planets, and 9 rasaaas to give a Anandha rasa.
Near the thaara nayakan, that is the moon, sekaram is seen.(sekaran refers to Lord Shiva also.)
Chandrama manaso jaathaha – moon represents the mind. So SHE is the controller of all our minds.
This is why she has aabaranaas in her crown.
Since She is one part of Ardhanari, the moon represents Shiva also. Shiva is the one who burns all our kaamaas. of Manmatha - manMatha.
Shiva represents Time. So the moon, Shiva makes us live in the present, that is, opens the third eye when SHE controls the mind and gives us peace.
When we control our minds, our third eye can also be opened. When our minds are controlled what happens? We get tranquility and bliss
Smitha mukeem - a smiling face.
Aapeena vakshoruhaam.
Lalithambika is so benevolent in her Grace to her children that she has inexhaustible milk of love stored in her breast. The milk she pours is the ஞானப்பால், the milk of wisdom, to quench the thirst of knowledge of her Bhaktas.
The right and left eyes as our visible organs keep always perturbing leaving no scope for probing into such a sacred 3rd eye that gives immense means of enjoying the present, that is the aanandam.
Thaara Naayakan, the moon Is adorning Lord Shiva known for also controlling the mind.
Maa Lalitha governs the activities of Navagrahas. Nava rasa. Being the occupant as the vaama bhaaga has control over the moon, the leader of the group of stars. The moon ultimately adorning Sivaa. Unfailingly has a control on the minds particularly governing the Time keeping the oscillating minds steady focussed on to the THIRD EYE the Gyaanam, Widom, Enabling the bliss
Paànibyaam alipoorna rathna chashakam.
In her hands She carries a Kalash chashakam!
Kalasam is our life. Poorna kalasam is the contentment we get after renunciation, knowledge, wisdom, an eye opener, compassion, and contentment.
Contentment that our present life is the best. Rakthothpalam biprathim means, She carries Red lotus in another hand
Why lotus? Because it comes out of mud.
So when you get peace of mind you blossom like a lotus, and Come out of muddy samsara Bandham. Red is for renunciation and serving others. when you renunciate it should be combined with service to others. Then comes biprathim, that is glory.
Sowmyaaam is a beautiful word. It means soft, light, slow, and gentle.
our words, thoughts and deeds should be like sow yam. Then only we can hear the Divine voice talking to us.
Anthakarana siddhi. Consciousness comes. Meditate and bring a form. When you live like that in the present you don’t worry about the future.
Do upasana. Say ‘I want to be one with you. Be a thathwa like you.’ Then we should be pure in thought words and deeds.
We move on to Devi’ s feet.
Rathna Gatastha raktha charanam
She is keeping her legs on the gem studded rathna gatam.
Gatam is a pot which is made of clay, mud.we come from mud and go into mud.The whole universe is gatam.Mother who created this universe wants to show that She is protecting the universe by putting Her legs on it.
It is a rathna gatam. The universe is surrounded by Maya which is the glittering like a rathna gatam. So focus on Her beautiful legs with anklets and put your head on her feet. Dhyayeth paraam Ambikaam Total Surrender. Leave the karma luggage behind. Mantras, meditations are aparan. She is para the unknown. Meditate and surrender at Her feet. Surrender to the tathwa. Now the next step upon the achievement. Her possessing the Rathna kalasam in one hand and the other having the lotus symbolizes Contentment and renunciation integrated with a motive to serve others... These result in our brilliance and glory. Our thoughts and actions and the result are in total synchronization. Visualusing Mother Lalithambika in this form takes us all along to the ultimate Bliss as a result.
Dhyana slokam:
Arunam Karuna thrangitakshim dhrutha –pasangusa-pushpabana-chapam, Animadhibhi-ravrutham mayukai –raha mityeva vibhavaye Bhavanim.
I imagine of my goddess Bhavani, Who has the colour of the rising sun.
Who has eyes which are waves of mercy, Who has bow made of sweet cane, Arrows made of soft flowers, pasanugusa in her hands, who is surrounded, by Her devotees with powers great, As personification of the concept of aham
. We were saying that we should focus on her raktha charanam. Aruna Karuna-.the sun and the moon. Arunam- the rising sun, has Rajo Guna-knowledge. So She disciplines by dhrutha holding Ankusha, if you have an agitated mind. Paasa - invisible noose which binds every soul to truth. Angusha - divine having control over the souls with Karunaam - merciful. Romance, love, which ManMadhaa uses with his Pushpbaanam, and kamam has to be controlled by Ma if it exceeds the limit Baana also means sugarcane. Tharangithaa-tharangam waves-waves of mercy, infinite ocean-Akashim eyes. She balances Rajo Guna and Kaama...with her angusam sometimes and Pushpa baana sometimes. That is the reason for our going forth the hardships. The ignorant minds do not understand what for we are punished. At Least by her merciful waves of compassion, let us be prepared to accept hard ships with a total surrender attitude. Control passion that leads to possessiveness, jealousy, and anger. control with discipline, and balance.control the mind. Have compassion I imagine my goddess Bhavani in this form
Animaadhi bir aavruthaam, means she is surrounded by Ashtami sidhdhis And ten rays are around, that radiance comes to us.
8 kinds of Ashtama siddhis are as follows:

At mooladhara we leave the desires, lose all rasa and merge as Ananda rasa at swadhisthana
At manipura flesh, we lose the thought about roopa,
The ego is gone. The Agni center burns that sthoola roopam and becomes sookshma roopam.
Anahata, blood rudhira, large hearted, unconditional love, to the entire universe, lose the sense of sparsha of the external world,.you get only sparsha of Ma.I love everyone, everything. Nothing and nobody is bad.
At vishuddhi, with the help of dakini and her beejam we burn the outer skin, you get Vaal shuddhi, speak only good things. We lose the sense for external shabdam. Only data Vidhya Nadia of Ma is heard.

First we see her image, her face and then tathwa. After the smiling face we get the radiance.
Peethavasthram, yellow, gold which indicates that intellectual ability shines. we leave the emotional aspect and start searching for the brahath kaarana, the human birth.
Karakalitha lasath hema Padma.
Focus on birds rutham and Agni dharma And chaithanya. When we recite beejams these birds will eat the bheejams that become Hamsa.
Parama Hamsa.
Varangeem- meditate on Her
Sarvaalankaara yukthaam means the jewels are not worn or described with the decoration sense but with the protection sense as the jewels protect each chakra and our beeja mantra are the jewels which protect our chakras.
Sarvalankara yuktham sathatham abhayadam bhaktha namram bhavanim. Srividyam santhamuthim sakala suranutham sarva sampat pradhatrim.

Who applies saffron on her body,
Who applies musk attracted by bees on her, Who has a beautiful smile,
Who has with her bows, arrows and Pasangusa, Who attracts all the souls,
Who wears red garland, Who wears ornaments great,
And who is of the colour of the red hibiscus.
When we do dhyanam in mantra sastra we should say dhyayaeth and smaren. when we do our regular prayers we should say vande and smarami.
In Sindhuraruna vigraham, the moorthi is imagined with 2 hands. In the second and fourth it is chathurbahu samanvitha.Third SLOKAM should be prayed as sampath Pradayini. This is an initial step of praying to Matha with her sthoola and if we fix that in our minds concentration becomes easy.
Animadhibihi mayukai : We should imagine that the light rays emanating out of Devi who reside In Bindhu stay at each chakra for some time and they are converted as aavarana Devatā s.
Lam ithyadhi pancha Pooja
After the dhyana we should do upacharas. upacharas are of 64 types or 16. But it is reduced to 5 based on panchabhutas.
LAM: pruthvi- gandham samarpayami HAM : Akash- pushpam
YAM: VAAYU-dhoopam RAM- Agni- deepam
