    War is something that has been going on for centuries since the beginning of time. Different wars in different countries, eras of time, and between which peoples have started for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes wars are fought because of territory and land. There are other times when wars are fought because of resources. There were wars that were caused by a revolution and a rebellion. There were wars fought because of a demand in different supplies and resources. There was even one war that took place centuries ago where it was believed that two nations went head-to-head all because of a beautiful woman.

    In the heat of battle, many fight in wars for the gold, the glory, and the fame. In a time of peace, many idolize the heroes who fought in these wars, yet forget what the cost was in order for these people to be deemed heroic. Many forget about the lives that had to be sacrificed and lost in order to win a battle for territory, beliefs, resources, and whatever possible reason there could be to start a war.

    The American Civil War was a war fought between the country’s federal government against a group of rebels who wanted to keep living the way they have been living, they wanted to keep their slaves and keep the slave trade alive. They believed that the country should be run solely by the ways of the Christian beliefs.
