CHAPTER ONE
AMERICA'S
BEST IDEA
Old Faithful was given its name because of its regular eruptions around twenty times a day.
In 1872, the U.S. Congress considered Yellowstone to be such a special place that they designated it as the world’s first national park. Over 150 years later, the weird and wonderful nature of Yellowstone National Park still stands apart. In fact, visiting Yellowstone is like visiting three parks in one. It is a living museum of history, geology, and ecology. In Yellowstone, you can stay in one of the world’s largest log cabins, the 119-year-old Old Faithful Inn.
