Poetry in Mt. Hamiguitan, as a Facebook page publishing platform, showcases the diverse range of poetry written by emerging, aspiring, and established writers in the province of Davao Oriental. This platform allows writers to express their creativity and share their work with a broader audience.
By welcoming poetry in different languages such as English, Filipino, Binisaya, Mandaya, and other local languages in the province, Poetry in Mt. Hamiguitan has captured linguistic diversity. It encourages writers to express themselves in their mother tongue and the language they are comfortable with. This also helps to preserve the local languages and culture of the province.
This platform is not limited to the themes of nature but also explores human experiences, such as love, hate, culture, tradition, isolation, pain, diaspora, nostalgia, and others. It also encourages writers to explore and experiment with themes and topics, expanding the echoes and perspectives in Mindanao Literature.
For young writers, Poetry in Mt. Hamiguitan serves as an inspiration for creative writing. It provides a space to exhibit their work and connect with other writers and readers in Mindanao and beyond. By providing a supportive and inclusive community, Poetry in Mt. Hamiguitan nurtures a love of poetry for the next generation of writers in the province of Davao Oriental.
