I’m so excited to have finally finished a story for the first time since I was a kid. I’ve always loved writing but could not complete a story for the life of me. So many ideas were never fully explored. So I want to start by crediting a few things for inspiring me to write this. First to my father, who has been encouraging me to keep writing and wants me to become an author, a dream he never fulfilled himself. I also thank The Six Deaths of the Saint by Alix E. Harrow for making me realize that I don’t have to write an entire novel in order to share a story. Some elements of this book are also loosely inspired by Greek mythology and Christianity.

Once upon a time, there was a girl. The girl grew to be such a beautiful, smart, and talented young woman that people couldn’t help but admire her. In fact, they admired her so much that they gave her gifts. They gifted her poems, stories, songs, and books as declarations of love and adoration. They gifted her handmade items made from their blood, sweat, and tears. They even gifted her gold and silver in the form of many things, like jewelry, money, and statues. People would visit from all around the land to see and appreciate her. As she became more and more well known, they made cities for her and created legends after her. The whole world knew she was someone special, someone to be praised. She was gifted with great power. Power in the form of the people’s
