The Life of the USS John F. Kennedy - Donald Yates
Dedication
Idedicate this book to the thousands of officers, men and women who served on the USS John F. Kennedy, CV-67. Their devotion and dedication to the United States of America will never be forgotten.
It wouldn’t be right if I failed to mention the Commander In Chief for whom the USS John F. Kennedy was named for and the importance he played in his short time in office. John F. Kennedy was an amazing president who fought hard during his limited time in office to eradicate racism, organized crime, monopolies, and countless other blights to our great nation. He also helped avoid World War III because of his actions during the Cuban missile crisis.
Another aspect of this dedication is the enormous amount of suffering our nation endured in the months and even years after his murder. The shock of his assassination is very similar to our nation’s horrendous experiences after Pearl Harbor, the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and more recently, the events on September 11, 2001. As a nation we need to remember those awful times of mourning but also remember that our nation bounced back after all those setbacks.
