    To the Spirit of Martyrdom

    When unarmed people,

    Rise-up for their freedom,

And the army of the tyrant,

    Is shooting at them:

People are dying on the roads

Then we ought to take up the arms,

    Join the battle,

    And fight

    For our freedom.

    The Poetry Battles Too

The Arab Revolution changed the face of the world. Like a thunderstorm, the people living for centuries under the cruelty of the dictators have uprooted everything. Once there happened a Mahabharat of 18 days in India for procuring power. Now, in Egypt, there occurred a revolution for Eighteen days for the cause of Democracy. Islam is not considered liberal, however Arab Revolution took place for Democracy and not for religion. Assabiyah is a grand  renaissance of Arab Revolution. Now on another level in the democratic countries, people have stood up against the corporate culture. Although people are forced to live in lack-lustre, however, the world is getting prosperous. In India too, the money of the billionaires is hoarded in foreign countries and poor people are starving to death. The movement that began in Wall Street is now spreading through the whole of Europe and Latin America including many other counties.

It is said that poetry is connected with the feelings of inner life and the streams of love. Her expressions lie within. This, though is true but can raise a  storm the moment it comes out. The ocean, within its limits, is of utmost importance to human beings, but when it comes out, it brings Tsunami. The crux of the matter is that things, with globalisation,  are going beyond their limits. There is a deluge swelling up sometimes for freedom and at other times for financial crisis. Amid all this, the population of the world is touching Seven trillion mark. And along the population explosion is the upsurge of Terrorism.

It seems like multiculturalism is failing. There is an attempt to thirst once culture upon others. It’s beautiful for people to live in different colours. They can’t be painted in a single shade. Poetry is close to astronomy but now it is turning into geography. The relevance of history is diminishing because of the truth of geography. The world no more belongs to those who command many people but to those who don’t want to be commanded but rule the world that had exploited them at every step.

All the poems of Assabiyah belong to this type. It is not necessary that only the unarmed will bear (on their breasts) the bullets for democracy. They shall also now taste the bullets who have been so far firing bullets (on the unarmed masses.) If we cannot change anything by staying together and silent, we must also
