A Lie Never Dies

About this ebook
Set in the original birthplace of the Portuguese Empire, Coimbra, Portugal. A Lie Never Dies tells a tale of rage, revenge, accidental death, murder, deceit, guilt, and love, both lost and found. Choice and Chance are two threads woven into the tapestry of a life tangled in a web of lies leading a young woman to the brink of insanity.
But at its core, it is a story about how a single lie gives birth to a labyrinth of deception, how hypocrisy begets vengefulness, and retaliation leads to treachery and tragedy.
A disillusioned American comes to Portugal to teach ESL, an escape from toxic America and an attempt to rekindle the spark in a marriage that has sailed too close to the edge of the map. But his wife doesn't love the voyage and leaves for a long visit back to the US, leaving their marriage on the brink of an unseen storm.
Walking home through the ancient city of Coimbra during a heat wave, Drew Martin just wants a cold beer, but the bar he chooses is the wrong place at the wrong time. And when a beautiful woman arrives, things go unbelievably amiss, and an ugly truth is born of a lie that never dies.
Dante Langston
