Synopsis
Can they escape the grip of this creature of the night?
Caleb is an 18-year-old living in a small town in Washington. In 1989, when he meets a girl called Ebony, they start a romantic relationship, but does he really know who he is getting into bed with? They go away to try and escape a stranger who is following them until he catches up with them. They are taken through a portal into another dimension where they come under attack by enemy forces – creatures much more powerful than themselves.
Chapter 1
It was dark under the shadow of the moon…the boy was running through the gloomy woods, rapidly engulfing him in their impenetrable trees. As he frantically tried to escape his pursuer, he got the sinking feeling that something was closing in on him. The forest was a dark blur full of unhappy shadows, and bushes that sat below his feet making him feel like he was running on air. He could smell something that smells like rotting flesh all around him, and the stench was so rancid that it felt like it was burning the hairs in his nose. How could something smell so bad? He had never smelt something so horrific in his life, and he had to struggle to keep the contents of his stomach inside. He was mid sprint when he quickly lost his footing, and was thrown down into the muddy ground hitting his face on a big rock as he crashed landed. He tried to sit up, but the canopy above started spinning, and he immediately turned to the side and began violently heaving. Concussion. As he lay there silently trying to regain control of himself, he heard a twig snap in-front of where he lay; he froze to the spot. His heartbeat began racing at the speed of light, and he couldn’t stop shaking with absolute terror. Something came into his field of view; it looked like a man. He wore a black suit
