    Turning The Tables – Cryptocurrency

This is the new age where cryptocurrency has become a global marvel recognized by most of us but apparently, understood by only a handful. In 2018, you would have spent a hard time finding a renowned bank, accounting firm, a software company, or even the government that hasn’t chosen cryptocurrency or started a blockchain project beyond the uproar in the press releases. There are countless people who often fail to understand the basic concepts related to cryptocurrency, so this book will play its part in helping you find out bit by bit, so you’re don’t feel left behind.

    Encrypted money

Back in the year 2008, a man named Satoshi Nakamoto invented the first-ever cryptocurrency known as Bitcoin as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. In order to realize digital cash, you need a payment network consisting of balances, accounts, and transactions. So far, it seems pretty easy to understand, but one major problem that almost every other payment network has to deal with is to prevent double-spending, that is, to prevent one entity from spending the same amount twice. In the majority of the cases, a central server takes care of this issue that keeps all the records of the balances in a decentralized network. If you don’t have this server, every other entity present will have to perform this task every time. As a matter of fact, every peer in the network will need to have a complete list of all the transactions to check if the future transactions are even valid or another attempt to double spend, increasing the workload on the servers and the entities involved.

Many people from across the globe have raised one valid question, and even we believe that it should be addressed in this book to help clear the air; how can these entities keep their consensus about these records? If the network peers disagree about one single minor balance, the entire chain can break, so this becomes the reason why they need an absolute consensus. Nobody knew how to achieve it until Satoshi Nakamoto proved that this, too, was possible. Cryptocurrencies are the key part of the solution to this problem.

The foundation of Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and others of such natures lies in a new technology which is called the Blockchain Technology. This term refers to the infrastructure that cryptocurrencies are built on. Blockchain Technology may be a disruptive technology that, a lot of people argue, but it is greater than the web's arrival. However, the application of blockchain doesn’t end at cryptocurrencies only.

As you are reading this book, there are more than 2,000 cryptocurrencies in existence. One of the main reasons is that cryptocurrencies gained massive hype back in 2017 when Bitcoin’s value skyrocketed and grabbed everyone’s attention. The increase in Bitcoin’s value was a whopping %1,318! That’s right, not $1,318, but %1,318 of the price. This serge was nothing compared to gains of other digital assets, like Ripple, which went up a whopping 36,018 percent. These returns are quite what a stock investor could normally make during a lifetime.

    Trillion Dollar Industry

All of us use money every other day, but we rarely appreciate the power it contains and the flaws associated with it. It’s a tool that has been at the center of human progress as we build our world and progress towards tackling complex problems. We will need the best tools available at our disposal. A global economy needs a global digital currency accepted by everyone.

    Coin Market to the moon

Current financial systems are indeed quite centralized. Since we have giant banks and vast governments, the involvement of mediators in such chains makes things incredibly inefficient. Cryptocurrencies eliminate this need which is why there were objections raised concerning cryptocurrencies almost all over the world before being widely accepted. When we talk about the existing financial system, there are roughly 1.8 billion people in the world as users of cell phones, but they don’t have access to any financial services. What is really powerful about Cryptocurrency is
