Gospatric – The Forgotten Earl
()
About this ebook
A wealthy Scot pulls together an unlikely team to uncover the truth about Gospatric’s life, his family’s place in history and his supposed early death. How did he become the Earl of Northumbria? Why did his children dominate Cumbria, Dunbar, and most of Lothian? How did he survive the wrath of the Conqueror? Did he die young? This team of three men and one woman, two Scots and two Americans, uncover secrets in both the present and the past.
Although this is a work of fiction, it is based on extensive research of Gospatric’s place in history. He was the grandson of Crinan and Bethoc, important eleventh century figures in Scotland, as well as of Uchtred the Bold, the powerful Earl of Northumbria. Gospatric has descendants across the world, who are unaware of their relationship to this forgotten earl.
Carol Spearman
Carol Spearman began writing in high school but had little time to do so during a career in social work, community development, business consulting, and teaching, while going to law school and raising a family. She has self-published four novels. The first, Firewall of the Mind, is a thriller related to today’s white nationalist political agenda, as is One Tap Too Many, written with her grandson. A second, The Lie Beyond, was inspired by her work in Europe trying to stop the trafficking of children. Her current novel, Gospatric – The Forgotten Earl, is a historical sequel to A Half Forgotten Dream, a story of grief, family history, DNA memory and reincarnation. Carol has worked and lived in the US and the UK, where her novels are often set.
