Prologue
Allah SWT (God) says in The Holy Qur’an:
"And mention Prophet Idris AS in the Book, surely he was a truthful man, a Prophet. And We raised him high in heaven.

Prophet Idris AS, known as Enoch in the Judeo-Christian tradition, occupies a significant and unique place in Islamic history and theology. His story is woven into the fabric of Islamic teachings, with references found in The Holy Quran and the Hadith literature.
Idris is recognized as a great-grandson of Prophet Adam AS, tracing his lineage through Prophet Seth AS. In Islamic belief, he was chosen by Allah SWT The Creator of Earth & Heavens to guide his people, who were veering towards polytheism. Gifted with wisdom and righteousness, Prophet Idris AS (Enoch) diligently conveyed the message of monotheism and the worship of the one true God.
One of the striking aspects of Idris’ story in Islam is his remarkable lifespan. According to The Holy Quran (Surah Maryam, 19:57), he lived for 960 years. This extended life span provided him with a unique opportunity to spread his divine teachings across numerous generations. It is said that he used this time to patiently and consistently call his people to the worship of Allah SWT and the abandonment of idolatry.
