Iam pleased to give a foreword to Money Does Matter written by Shri. CS. Krishnamurthy.

Krishnamurthy is known to me personally for many years. I am one among the few who have seen him growing up in his life from his childhood to that of an experienced banker and well respected in India and in the Gulf Region.

He is vastly experienced in the areas of commercial Banking, Asset Management portfolios and at the senior levels in the industry. After retirement from active service in the banks, he has taken up the role of being a guide to share his experience through his periodical articles on investments covering the whole aspect of the same. These articles numbering more than 250 have been published in leading newspapers.

A reading of the articles covered in this book clearly brings out the deep analytical skills he has acquired in his professional exposures in the area of investments in the financial assets.

With such experience it is no wonder that the articles published in the book covers all aspects right from choosing an investment, whether it is in the form of a Fixed Deposit with a bank or in equities or in a Mutual fund and the critical issues that need to be addressed with regard to these investments.

It is with great pleasure that I reflect on my more than five decades of acquaintance with CS Krishnamurthy, fondly known as CSK by most of us. Over the years, I have witnessed his remarkable transformation from a humble letters to the editor contributor to a seasoned writer and matured finance guru. Personally, I owe my introduction to mutual fund investment through Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) to him, and I’m grateful for his counselling and knowledge sharing. His journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

In recent years, CSK has consistently contributed articles across various reputable English newspapers, covering a diverse range of subjects. While predominantly finance-related, his articles delve into distinct segments, touching on crucial topics such as early-age savings, the importance of emergency funds, the imperative need for us to craft our Will, and the fundamentals as well as intricacies of investment through mutual funds. He has also addressed issues like bank security concerns and a myriad of interrelated subjects. Most of these articles serve as a wellspring of knowledge, drawing from CSK’s personal experiences.

I commend CSK for the dedicated effort and time invested in crafting each of these articles, which undergo extensive research, factual verification, and rounds of editing to ensure authenticity and clarity for the reader. He studied Journalism from the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai. His effective writing style is evident in his narratives.

In many of his writings, I can see his passion for savings and investments apart from the words that flow from his more than thirty plus years of work experience in Indian and foreign banks. Introduction

As I sit back in my study, reflecting on my long banking and investing experience, I recall the decision I had taken in my younger days that I should share my experiences with persons who have savings built up through their hard work so that they will benefit and deal with the related risks confidently. This has encouraged me to embark on this journey with a sense of privilege and responsibility.
