Introduction
A letter to the reader
Dear You,
Do you ever feel stuck in a monotonous life? It sucks working a day-to-day job, an endless routine. Get up, clean, work, study, eat, go to sleep a pattern that repeats day and night. Life seems to repeat itself, well, at least your life is like mine. The constant worry of figuring out everything and always planning your next move. Day-to-day, your life is always revolving around technology, science, evolution, or money. You are so busy with the development of your life that you forget about the life created by nature.
Some would argue that this is a fiction story involving a theory about an abyss and the planet maybe you're right. Or maybe, you are just like me, a Sci-Fi fanatic novel reader that enjoys twists of realism. But, hey, interpret it how you like.
On a serious note, forget your worries sometimes; you lose so many opportunities in life because of it. You keep thinking that if you don't give way to anxiety or unease or allow your mind to dwell on difficulties or troubles that are happening in your life, everything will go wrong. But the truth is, the only thing that could go wrong in life is if you are not doing the things that you love in this life. You only get one chance.
So here's some advice for you: Get lost. Go on more adventures. Take chances. Feel. Get in touch with your surroundings. Love. Connect with people more. Count your blessings. And most importantly, live boldly. Sometimes you need to temporarily take time to heal, to mentally or physically grow. So please pause, stop, and take a look at the beauty surrounding our planet. If you can learn to take a minute and take a break once in a while to appreciate life and enjoy the simple things, I'm sure nature can also teach you a thing or two. Enjoy the journey. This isn't only a reminder letter for you, but it's also for me.
Yours truly,
The Author
Chapter One:
The Theory
It was an early Friday afternoon in the Lake District when Andre decided to pay a visit to his best friend Rachael, who lived around the corner. Eagerly leaving his house, he rode his bike until he reached Rachael's house, knowing she always kept a spare key on the front porch underneath a brown carpet near the door.
Reaching below the carpet, he grabbed the key, opened the door, and entered Rachael's house.
Rachael!
he cried out, but there was no response. Glancing around, Andre noticed something intriguing an embroidered plate with rustic flowers on a large wooden table in Rachael's living room. Warm chocolate chip cookies piled on top suggested they had just been taken out of the oven. Andre, unable to resist Rachael's infamous cookies, savored the crisp edges and soft centers of the chocolate-glazed double chocolate chip cookies.
After indulging, he glimpsed a figure in the garden. Moving past the living room, through sliding glass doors, he found Rachael watering the flowers, surrounded by an extensive collection of white and red orchids.
Rachael!
he exclaimed, excited to see her, and gave her a hug.
Rachael, startled, replied, Andre! Don’t scare me like that.
They sat on the grass, letting the sun soak their skin.
How are you?
Rachael asked, laying her head on his shoulder.
Good. By the way, I love your cookies; they tasted amazing,
Andre replied, looking at her with captivating eyes.
Rachael smiled, I know you do. Please, tell me you didn't eat them all.
Andre laughed, then smiled, assuring her he only ate three cookies. Suddenly, his expression turned more grim and mysterious. Rachael finished watering the plants, and they both sat down on the grass.
A, what’s up?
Rachael laid her head on his shoulder with concern.
Come to the end of the world with me,
Andre proposed.
Rachael, looking at him in disbelief, asked, What? What are you talking about?
Rachael, I read an article talking about the end of the world it disproves that the world is a continuum. Could there be a destination, a path where there is an end? What if what we know is fake? What if there is a cliff or some type of elevation where the past is nonexistent, just miles and miles of inaccessibility? Maybe our society’s idea of the planet is just a complete dystopia, an intolerable ideal created by society, and we were forced to believe it.
Rachael sighed, That is just a theory, A.
But what if it is not, Rachael? Haven’t you ever wanted to test out a theory before?
Rachael paused, So you think that this world has a climactic point and that after you reach it, that is the final stage, and it does not have a state of equilibrium?
Yes, exactly. Scientists could be tricking us into believing that there is a continuum, a sequence in the world.
Rachael looked at him skeptically. Andre wasn't one for risks, but she understood why he was so interested in this subject. Andre loved science, and she knew when he set his mind
