In addition to her literary pursuits, Crown Shepherd actively contributes to her community by serving on several non-profit boards in the Twin Cities. Her commitment to fostering positive change has not gone unnoticed, and she has been recognized as a publishing fellow for Wise Ink. Crown's dedication to the arts and literature has also earned her accolades in the form of several prestigious Minnesota Art grants.
