Trinium - Bethany Ames
Chapter 1
Amelia sat at the dinner table, her family gathered around her. The aroma of a home-cooked meal filled the air, but excitement and nervous energy hung heavy. They piled their plates high with food, yet their conversations revolved around the new life awaiting them on Trinium.
I still can’t believe we’re really going,
Amelia’s father said, his voice tinged with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. Leaving behind everything we know.
Her mother nodded in agreement, her eyes reflecting the flickering candlelight. It’s a chance for a fresh start, for all of us.
Amelia’s younger sister, Lucy, chimed in eagerly, her eyes wide with wonder. Do you think there will be horses, Amelia? Will we get to ride them?
Amelia grinned at her sister’s enthusiasm. Of course, Lucy. Trinium is known for its horses. We’ll have plenty of chances to ride and train them.
Just then, the door swung open, and Marcus strode in, a mischievous grin on his face. He was tall and lean, with tousled brown hair that seemed perpetually windblown. His presence brought an air of excitement into the room.
Hey everyone!
he called out cheerfully. Amelia told me it’s a special dinner tonight.
Amelia’s cheeks flushed as she stole a glance at Marcus. It was true; she had invited him over to share this special family moment before their departure.
Marcus plopped down next to Amelia, stealing a piece of bread from her plate. So, ready for the big move?
he asked playfully.
Amelia rolled her eyes but couldn’t help but laugh.
