The small, aging house seemed to sigh with Selena's every step. It was as if the old building shared in her weariness, echoing the feeling of a life that had seen better days. The kettle's whistle cut through the quiet of the house, and she poured the steaming water over the tea bag, savouring the familiar, soothing scent.
