Chapter 1: Scarred for Life

In the hellish uproar of steel crashing against steel and the tortured screams of warriors meeting their end, Red Blight-Bornn was brought into the world. His mother, Kataryn Blight-Bornn, a relentless red-haired Viking fighter, found herself encircled by adversaries. Her blood rapidly spilled onto the battle-scarred earth.

As her husband, Drake Blight-Bornn, collapsed dead beside her, the reality of her impending death snapped her into focus. Her wounds were deep; her blood loss, fast. With her unborn child's life hanging in the balance, instinct took over. Swallowing a Viking potion for strength, she ran from the death-filled battle and hid behind a huge boulder.

The cold wind of fate blew mercilessly, howling through the barren trees. The world seemed to fade away as Kataryn fought for more time. Silently screaming in pain, she drew her blade. Its design was made for this moment—to leave a lasting mark on her child and pass down the family legacy.

The scar left behind would depict her son's path in life, and fate would align to make it happen. Clenching the hilt, she plunged it deeper into herself, tearing flesh apart until reaching the life inside her. Her only thought was giving birth and providing life, even if that meant paying with her own.

Suddenly, Red found himself detached from the physical realm. Drawn by an unknown force, he felt an urge to explore. As he moved, the spirit form of his mother appeared beside him, guiding him deeper into the Viking realm of the departed.

Red: Where are we going, Mother?

Mother: You need to see this, my son.

Leading him through the shadows, she pointed to the gathering souls.

Mother: Look. These souls are warriors, preparing for the final world-ending battle. Your future, your bloodline, it's linked to this place. Remember this.

The gravity of her words hit him, knowing this vision would shape his destiny. Another unspoken question arose: Why must I return by myself?

Mother: The path ahead is your fate. What you've seen will guide you, but the journey forward is for you to walk alone.

With her spirit gradually fading, Red found himself back in the realm of the living, on the blood-soaked battlefield, overwhelmed with emotion.

It was then that Aeldred, a recluse, stumbled upon Red. Aeldred, sensitive to the unseen, felt the infant's potent aura.

Aeldred: A child doesn't belong here. Too much death around.

Wrapping Red in his cloak, Aeldred made his way to his hidden cabin, deep within an ancient forest. The dense ground seemed to whisper secrets of an age long past. Once inside, Aeldred drew protective symbols in the air.
