About this ebook

Christmas Eve is the most heartwarming and magical night of the year. Anything can happen, especially after it begins to snow…

Alexandra O'Malley is a grumpy college student and disappointed about where things are for her romantically. It feels like everyone else has it figured out, while she's stuck alone in the office on a holiday answering phones and killing time––not to mention her boss just left for a ten day Caribbean cruise.

She hopes for her happily ever after, but first she has to make it through the next few hours without losing her mind.

A festive party awaits, along with a dream date with Roland who is charming, intelligent with a sexy, British accent. He appears to be everything she might desire, or is he?

Conundrums become the invisible "ghosts" of Christmas past, present and future. They arrive to teach Alex that love is much closer than she thinks. Learning in the end that that life can be amazing, even if it's not perfect.

    A HOLIDAY SHORT-STORY

Life certainly has its difficulties, but the magical moments make it all worthwhile.

It was Christmas Eve in Worcester, as the snow began to fall.

Alexandra wearily locked up the program office where she interned three times a week in Beaven Hall to shave twenty percent off the cost of her undergraduate classes. The lights had all been dimmed, save for the restrooms and exit stairwells.

Yet with the departure of basically everyone but a few stragglers, the yummy scent of vanilla candles and peppermint lattes still floated in the air.

A Charlie Brown strand of multi-colored lights blinked over the bulletin board across from her desk, but the balsam garland was already starting to lose its needles.

She’d hustled hard all day. Making calls and answering emails from researchers and students alike, while quietly hoping to leave early and raise some holiday cheer at Quinn’s with her closest friends.

No such luck. Her overachieving boss, Dr. Walsh gave her three times her normal workload.

Smart man, he’d booked a cruise to Paradise Island the day after the holiday and wanted to be sure, ‘It all ran smoothly without him.’

The College of the Holy Cross was officially closed for
