    Unfolding Memories

Taking a walk on Memory Lane

I love books! I grew up with books. I cried and laughed with books. I love to connect with the person behind the book, to wonder who she / he is, how she / he is behind the loneliness of the words. I think we are all living books - some unwritten, others forgotten.

The invisible narrator of your personal story is the best companion when you take the train in the morning to go to work and you are barely awake. The storyteller that lives inside your mind who oversees the happy endings…and the sad ones.

Sometimes it gets claustrophobic to live inside ourselves, in our own life story. The story we choose to tell ourselves about us gets used like an old vinyl and new sounds appear accidentally in the cracks of overplayed songs.

Random memory gaps filled with clay. In the morning, when dreams are still there and reality rises in dusk, we start creating our destiny like a hardworking spider, over and over again. We create fiction, into the cracks of our reality. When we really feel trapped into our own web of fiction, we go and see somebody who can clear us out: a psychologist, a therapist or a tarot reader. I chose the tarot reader for the simple fact that the cards have pictures and it’s a fun process!

    Let’s meet!

That moment when we meet somebody and they tell us their name, most of the time we immediately forget it. This is because, at a first glance, we focus on the face of the person, the gestures, the sound of the voice, the body posture, the way they look at us. The name doesn’t matter, but the feeling that person awakens in your body, the first impression, that magic moment when you know if he or she will stay forever in your life or if he or she will be a silent passenger crossing your road.

My invisible friend, let’s create MAGIC together! My name has no importance.

How can we create magic? Which trick to choose? A deck of cards? A hat and a rabbit? A black cat?

Let’s just pick a card and wonder if it’s fate or just an accident. Are you a believer? Have you ever met a tarot reader? Have you ever eaten a fortune cookie? If you are a believer, you should also know that the whole principle is based on the law of attraction. We walk through life like magnets. Imagine a tiny magnet full with staples, pins, coloured buttons and stardust.

You are here, reading this book thanks to the law of attraction. Just be here and let the cards speak!

    2. The Queen of Cups: Hamsa!

The signs of cups in tarot are linked to emotions, intuition, and creativity. When the Queen (Mother) of Cups appears in a Tarot reading, you are being asked to listen to your heart. Stay open to your dreams because there is a world out there unfolding through your intuition!

Last year, during the pandemic, I took a yoga teacher training. When I finished the course, my teacher gave me a mantra: hamsa. "Hamsa means White Swan", which is the symbol of spiritual grace and majestic purity. The mantra’s significance comes from the fact that, when we breathe slowly, the inspiration and the expiration are similar to the wings of a swan flopping in the morning mist, floating in the wind, imperceptible, melting into the mirroring water, leaving no trace in the air. The Hamsa mantra helps us find the grace within. Or another word for grace that could mean bliss, spirit, God or any kind of higher form of inspiration.

After a month of COVID-19 lockdown has passed, I found myself in a place near Paris and near the banks of the Seine. My only happy moments during this period were composed of sunlight, multi-coloured leaves, the wavy, ever-changing currents of the Seine, and the water birds. I used to ride my bike along the Seine, and just stop and watch the birds, fishing, flying, floating, and soaking in the sun. It is such an amazing gift to be able to float on water and ride air currents with the same ease. Water birds are fascinating. In a way or another, all birds are fierce predators - even the tiny ones, we should not be deceived by their fragile appearance.
